Racing Incident Report

DAN EXCEL shifted out at the start and bumped GOLD-FUN.
From the outside barriers, MILITARY ATTACK and GLORIOUS DAYS were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, PACKING WHIZ and SAME WORLD bumped as SAME WORLD shifted in to obtain cover.
Rounding the Home Turn, MILITARY ATTACK and GLORIOUS DAYS raced tight as MILITARY ATTACK shifted out to obtain clear running.
Approaching the 300 Metres, REAL SPECIALIST and PURE CHAMPION momentarily raced tight inside DAN EXCEL which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
Near the 150 Metres, REAL SPECIALIST was steadied and shifted to the outside of DAN EXCEL (N Callan) after racing tight inside that horse which shifted in under pressure. N Callan was advised to exercise more care.
When questioned, O Doleuze stated that it was anticipated that GOLD-FUN would obtain a position behind midfield due to the horse being awkwardly drawn in barrier 9 and the make-up of the field. He said he was able to shift GOLD-FUN across and obtain a position behind midfield as instructed and GOLD-FUN then travelled well in the early and middle stages. He said after being shifted to the outside of runners rounding the Home Turn, GOLD-FUN did not quicken as it had done in the past and finished off the race only one-paced. He added that passing the 200 Metres GOLD-FUN got its head on the side and shifted in and as a result he was obliged to change his whip over to his right hand, however, the horse had previously shown an inclination to shift in under pressure in its races. A veterinary inspection of GOLD-FUN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, B Prebble stated that he could not offer any reason for the disappointing performance of PACKING WHIZ. A veterinary inspection of PACKING WHIZ immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of GLORIOUS DAYS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOLD-FUN, BLAZING SPEED and DAN EXCEL were sent for sampling.
