Racing Incident Report

GREAT RUN was slow to begin and shortly after the start was crowded for room between LUCKY OMENS and PACKING MOTOR which was taken out by ALPHA GRAND.
GOOD TREASURE became unbalanced shortly after the start when bumped by GRIFFINDOR.
From the outside barrier, HOLMES LEGEND was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
When being steadied with a view to obtaining cover after the 1300 Metres, GRIFFINDOR proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions.
After the 1000 Metres, GREAT RUN commenced to prove difficult to settle and making the first turn near the 850 Metres shifted out and made contact with ALWAYS SOMETHING.
Near the 700 Metres, GREAT RUN became unbalanced when reluctant to maintain its position.
Rounding the Home Turn, FORGIVE AND FORGET was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GRIFFINDOR.
LUCKY OMENS was held up for clear running between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres.
Passing the 300 Metres, FORGIVE AND FORGET (B Prebble) was crowded for room between ENTHUSIASM and GRIFFINDOR, both of which shifted slight ground. Then approaching the 200 Metres, FORGIVE AND FORGET was steadied away from the heels of GRIFFINDOR which at this time was taken out by ALWAYS SOMETHING. After the race, B Prebble reported that whilst his mount was awkwardly placed in this incident, FORGIVE AND FORGET was also reluctant to improve into tight running.
Close to the finishing line, FORGIVE AND FORGET raced tight inside ENTHUSIASM. In this incident, GRIFFINDOR, which was racing to the inside of FORGIVE AND FORGET, was struck across the nose by the whip of B Prebble. When struck across the nose, GRIFFINDOR shifted in abruptly across the heels of ALWAYS SOMETHING.
A veterinary inspection of RED DANCER immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea.
WHY NOT and HOLMES LEGEND were sent for sampling.
