Racing Incident Report

RED ROSE WARRIOR was slow to begin.
MAMBO ROCK began only fairly.
HO HO FEEL bounded in the air at the start and became unbalanced. After this, from a wide barrier, HO HO FEEL was shifted across behind runners.
Also from the outside barrier, CHATER LEGEND was shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
Shortly after the start, OUTLAWED raced in restricted room between LAND GRANT and ISHVARA.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, WINNING FAITH became badly unbalanced.
Passing the 700 Metres, WINNING FAITH and ISHVARA raced tight.
Approaching the 600 Metres, RIGHT CALL was bumped by LAND GRANT which got its head on the side and lay in.
Approaching the 200 Metres, PRETTY BAUHINIA was shifted to the outside of WINNING FAITH after being disappointed for running between that horse and LAND GRANT (N Rawiller) which shifted out. N Rawiller was advised that whilst he had taken measures to prevent LAND GRANT from shifting out further, nonetheless he was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Over the concluding stages, ISHVARA was awkwardly placed inside the heels of CHATER LEGEND.
When questioned, S Clipperton stated that he is familiar with OUTLAWED having previously ridden it on a number of occasions. He said he was asked to ride OUTLAWED "aggressively” and ensure that he was able to build up momentum on the horse as the connections did not want OUTLAWED to be left flat-footed when the tempo of the race increased. He said for this reason he shifted OUTLAWED out from behind LAND GRANT and improved around that horse to race outside the leader CALIFORNIA JOY at the 800 Metres. He said he was concerned that CALIFORNIA JOY was dictating the tempo of the race as it had established an uncontested lead in the middle stages and therefore he felt that it was in OUTLAWED’s best interests to work forward of LAND GRANT as he was aware that CALIFORNIA JOY would increase the tempo of the race at a later stage which would not suit OUTLAWED were it to remain racing behind LAND GRANT. Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions given to S Clipperton and stated that they were consistent with what he had previously given in respect of this horse. He said he was therefore satisfied with Jockey Clipperton’s decision to improve his position near the 800 Metres. A veterinary inspection of OUTLAWED immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, OUTLAWED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of LAND GRANT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CALIFORNIA JOY, WINNING FAITH and PRETTY BAUHINIA were sent for sampling.
