Racing Incident Report

FARSHAD was withdrawn on 10.3.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MAGIC POWER (M L Yeung). Before being allowed to race again, FARSHAD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
As T Berry was unable to fulfil the engagement on FORTUNE PATROL due to being overweight, K C Leung was substituted as the rider of that horse. T Berry was fined the sum of $5,000.
BLAZING PARTNERS, which was fractious in the barriers, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again.
After being loaded into the barriers, RAGING BLITZKRIEG became fractious, reared and momentarily got its front legs into the adjoining stall occupied by FIAMA. RAGING BLITZKRIEG and FIAMA were removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion both horses were suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, RAGING BLITZKRIEG will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
FIAMA began awkwardly and then was steadied away from the heels of RAGING BLITZKRIEG which shifted out shortly after the start.
CHUNG WAH SPIRIT began awkwardly.
VOLITATION began only fairly and shifted out towards the heels of RACING LUCK.
From the outside barriers, MAGIC POWER and HARD BALL GET were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
After travelling a short distance, CHIMBORAA was momentarily steadied away from the heels of RAGING BLITZKRIEG (B Prebble) which shifted in. B Prebble was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground.
Also travelling a short distance, BLAZING PARTNERS got its head up when briefly crowded for room between EVERBRAVE and VOLITATION, both of which shifted ground.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, BLAZING PARTNERS got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of VOLITATION. Then passing the 1000 Metres, BLAZING PARTNERS shifted in abruptly away from the heels of VOLITATION and became unbalanced.
Leaving the 1000 Metres, BLAZING PARTNERS got its head on the side and lay in away from CHUNG WAH SPIRIT, resulting in BLAZING PARTNERS becoming awkwardly placed close to the heels of POSITIVELY HIGH and losing ground.
EVERBRAVE lay out rounding the Home Turn.
Near the 150 Metres, FORTUNE PATROL was momentarily steadied away from the heels of FIAMA (U Rispoli) which shifted in when not properly clear. U Rispoli was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Throughout the race, EVERBRAVE and CHIMBORAA travelled wide and without cover.
The performance of MAGIC POWER and CHIMBORAA, both of which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC POWER and CHIMBORAA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of RAGING BLITZKRIEG immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
VOLITATION, SUN TOUCH and CHUNG WAH SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
