Racing Incident Report
MASTER ALBERT and GREAT PROFIT bumped at the start, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
From a wide barrier, HAPPY DRAGON was steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, MASTER ALBERT was steadied away from the heels of GREAT PROFIT (T Berry) which shifted in when not properly clear. T Berry was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he provides proper clearance when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
Passing the 1000 Metres, HAPPY DRAGON was bumped by AMAZING WONDER which shifted in to settle behind DIAMOND RYHME to obtain cover.
After the 900 Metres, DIAMOND RYHME was left racing wide and without cover.
Approaching the 700 Metres, HAPPY DRAGON was awkwardly placed behind MASTER ALBERT.
Passing the 700 Metres, TIANCHI MONSTER became unbalanced when reluctant to improve inside MASTER ALBERT.
After passing the 700 Metres, PATCH BABY was awkwardly placed behind HANDSOME BO BO and then shifted out away from the heels of that horse near the 600 Metres.
After the race, T Berry reported that GREAT PROFIT weakened noticeably in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of GREAT PROFIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
When questioned regarding the performance of HANDSOME BO BO, Z Purton stated that out of the barriers he rode HANDSOME BO BO aggressively, however, DREAM COME TRUE, from a wider barrier, showed more speed than HANDSOME BO BO. He said he was able to obtain a good position behind WINNING SUPREME making the first turn after the 900 Metres and HANDSOME BO BO initially travelled well. He said approaching and passing the 700 Metres HANDSOME BO BO got its head up when awkwardly placed behind WINNING SUPREME. He said after shifting to the outside of WINNING SUPREME rounding the Home Turn, HANDSOME BO BO initially quickened well, however, over the concluding stages, despite being ridden out, was disappointing in its failure to finish off the race. He added HANDSOME BO BO had risen considerably in the ratings this season and, based on today’s performance, may be looking for a break. A veterinary inspection of HANDSOME BO BO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
