Racing Incident Report
BRAMBLE BLITZ was withdrawn on 20.3.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right fore suspensory injury) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter NOBLE MAN (F Coetzee). Before being allowed to race again, BRAMBLE BLITZ will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. While in the saddling stalls, HONGKONG SUPERSTAR had its left front plate reset. HONGKONG SUPERSTAR was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. CONGRATS, CHEERFUL MASTER and GRAND CRU were slow to begin. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, ULTRA FANTASY was momentarily steadied away from the heels of INSPIRATION. On straightening, GRAND CRU was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of NOBLE MAN. In the early part of the Straight, SPECIAL KING PRAWN had difficulty obtaining clear running. At the 250 Metres, TIGER PRAWN was momentarily steadied and shifted to the outside of ULTRA FANTASY. As a result of this, HONGKONG SUPERSTAR was carried wider on the track which in turn caused ROYAL PERICLES to be carried wider. After this, ROYAL PERICLES shifted out away from HONGKONG SUPERSTAR. This caused inconvenience to NOBLE MAN and GRAND CRU which were hampered and steadied. Throughout the race, ROYAL PERICLES travelled wide and without cover. LUCKY WINNER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY WINNER after the race did not show any significant findings. TIGER PRAWN, INSPIRATION and ULTRA FANTASY were sent for sampling.
