Racing Incident Report

GREEN BIRDIE and WEI HAI INVINCIBLE were slow to begin. On jumping, WHATAFANTASY became unbalanced and lost ground after being bumped by NOBLE MAN which shifted in after being bumped by TCHAIKOVSKY. In the early stages, CANNONISE hung out, causing some crowding to INSPIRATION and YELLOW DIAMOND. After this, CANNONISE continued to hang out for the remainder of the race. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, GREEN BIRDIE got its head up when being steadied whilst racing tight inside WHATAFANTASY. After the 400 Metres, WEI HAI INVINCIBLE was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of LIBERAL'S KNIGHT. On straightening, O Doleuze (TCHAIKOVSKY) dropped his whip. After this, TCHAIKOVSKY hung in and proved difficult to ride. After the 200 Metres, WEI HAI INVINCIBLE got its head up when being steadied and shifted out away from the heels of TCHAIKOVSKY which was giving ground. At the 100 Metres, INSPIRATION was carried wider by FRIENDLY GAINS which shifted out. Over the concluding stages, GREEN BIRDIE hung out. Y T Cheng (EASY) said in the early stages he took hold of his mount and shifted across behind runners to ensure it had cover as is usual. He said tonight he obtained the position behind KING ENCOSTA which resulted in him being slightly worse than midfield. He said EASY proved more difficult than is usual to settle tonight, particularly in the early and middle stages. He said near the 500 Metres he became awkwardly placed close to the heels of KING ENCOSTA and as a result he shifted out which caused NOBLE MAN to be hampered and become unbalanced. He said as a consequence of the manner in which it travelled in the early and middle stages, EASY failed to close the race off tonight. EASY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, EASY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, EASY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. INSPIRATION, GREEN BIRDIE and KING ENCOSTA were sent for sampling.
