Racing Incident Report

Whilst in the saddling stalls, BRILLIANT DREAM had its left hind plate refitted. BRILLIANT DREAM was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
STAR OF YAN OI began only fairly and then was bumped by ARIZONA BLIZZARD, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
HIT THE BID shifted out at the start and bumped LANG TAI SING.
Shortly after the start, RUN FORREST was steadied when crowded for room between CALL ME AWESOME and LANG TAI SING which shifted out.
Near the 450 Metres, ARIZONA BLIZZARD shifted out and bumped STAR OF YAN OI. Then in the early part of the Straight, ARIZONA BLIZZARD and STAR OF YAN OI raced tight as ARIZONA BLIZZARD attempted to shift out from behind STARTLING POWER into clear running. When unable to improve between STARTLING POWER and STAR OF YAN OI, ARIZONA BLIZZARD was directed to the inside of STARTLING POWER in an endeavour to obtain clear running. Then passing the 250 Metres, when unable to obtain a run inside STARTLING POWER, ARIZONA BLIZZARD was again shifted to the outside of that horse to improve into tight running between STARTLING POWER and STAR OF YAN OI and bumped STAR OF YAN OI. After this, ARIZONA BLIZZARD hung out under pressure and proved difficult to ride.
Near the 100 Metres, BRILLIANT DREAM was shifted out away from the heels of ARIZONA BLIZZARD to obtain clear running.
Over the concluding stages, ARIZONA BLIZZARD and STAR OF YAN OI raced tight.
Throughout the race, CALL ME AWESOME travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned, M Chadwick stated that it had been intended for BEAR RAPPER, from a wide barrier, to be ridden in about a midfield position if possible. He said however that BEAR RAPPER began awkwardly and lost ground and therefore he shifted the horse across behind runners. He said this resulted in BEAR RAPPER racing further back in the field than had been intended.
A veterinary inspection of MR RIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
STAR OF YAN OI, HIT THE BID and MEGA RED were sent for sampling.
