Racing Incident Report

HIGH VOLATILITY shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of HERO LOOK.
Shortly after the start, CHATER LEGEND, which began awkwardly, and DR WIN WIN were crowded for room between ENREACHING and FULL GLAMOUR which shifted out.
From the outside barrier, ACCLAIMED LIGHT was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, JADE FORTUNE failed to show early speed.
Passing the 1600 Metres, HERO LOOK and ROUNDABOUT raced tight.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, FULL GLAMOUR was steadied when crowded for room between ROUNDABOUT and DR WIN WIN which, after initially being angled in by ENREACHING, then shifted in away from that horse after ENREACHING was directed out to prevent causing interference to its inside. After this, ENREACHING was left racing wide and without cover.
Approaching and passing the 1100 Metres, JADE FORTUNE travelled keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of FULL GLAMOUR.
FULL GLAMOUR got its head on the side and lay out making the turn after the 600 Metres.
Also making the turn after the 600 Metres, JADE FORTUNE became unbalanced when bumped by KA YING KID which lay out. After this, KA YING KID continued to lay out and rounding the Home Turn shifted out and made contact with CHATER LEGEND, causing both CHATER LEGEND and KA YING KID to become unbalanced.
The performances of DR WIN WIN and FULL GLAMOUR which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DR WIN WIN and FULL GLAMOUR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
When questioned, N Rawiller stated that, from the outside barrier, he had been asked to try and take up a more forward position in tonight’s race as had been the case in MONGOLIAN KING’s previous starts. He said despite being ridden along, the horse was not able to take up a forward position and then making the turn after passing the winning post on the first occasion lay out. He said MONGOLIAN KING continued to lay out but then making the turn after the 600 Metres hung out badly and lost a considerable amount of ground. He said as MONGOLIAN KING was clearly not handling the Happy Valley track at its first time of asking and was well out of contention, he eased it down rounding the Home Turn to prevent it continuing to hang out. A veterinary inspection of MONGOLIAN KING immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, MONGOLIAN KING will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, B Prebble stated that after having a good position throughout the race, ROUNDABOUT did not respond to his riding in the Straight and gave ground over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of ROUNDABOUT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

AGREE, HIGH VOLATILITY and JADE FORTUNE were sent for sampling.
