Racing Incident Report
On arrival at the Start, FAMOUS WARRIOR was noted to have blood at the mouth. FAMOUS WARRIOR was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
CAPTAIN BOSS began only fairly and then was crowded for room between CHARITY GLORY and FAMOUS WARRIOR which was taken out by SUNNY DRAGON.
BREEDERS’ STAR got its head up on a number of occasions shortly after the start when being steadied to obtain cover.
Shortly after the start, SPRING WIN was awkwardly placed outside the heels of WHO ELSE BUT YOU which shifted out.
Passing the 1000 Metres, SUNNY DRAGON got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover.
Passing the 450 Metres, BREEDERS’ STAR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPER LEADER.
SUPER LEADER was held up for a run in the early part of the Straight and at the 200 Metres was shifted out abruptly across the heels of GOLDEN HARVEST to obtain clear running.
FAMOUS WARRIOR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of STAR OF JOY approaching and passing the 200 Metres after being disappointed for running between that horse and SMART BOY. FAMOUS WARRIOR then continued to be held up for clear running until after passing the 100 Metres.
Passing the 100 Metres, BREEDERS’ STAR was shifted to the inside of SPRING WIN after being disappointed for running outside that horse which shifted out.
Over the final 50 Metres, SUPER LEADER and GOLDEN HARVEST raced tight as GOLDEN HARVEST was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SUNNY DRAGON which shifted out under pressure.
Close to the finishing line, M L Yeung, the rider of SUNNY DRAGON, stopped riding and straightened his mount to prevent causing interference to runners to its outside.
Throughout the race, STAR OF JOY travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of SMART BOY and STAR OF JOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CHARITY GLORY and SPRING WIN were sent for sampling.
