Racing Incident Report

OHANA and SUPERNATURAL bumped at the start.
MY GIFT began awkwardly.
HALL OF FAME was tightened for room shortly after the start between GOLDEN KID and FORTUNE GIGGLES which shifted in.
OHANA lost its left front plate shortly after the start.
From the outside barrier, ROCK THE TREE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Also in the early stages, from a wide barrier, SAVANNAH WIND was steadied to obtain cover and got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to restrain.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, GOLDEN KID (A Sanna) was steadied away from the heels of FORTUNE GIGGLES (N Rawiller) which, when being ridden along to obtain a forward position, shifted in marginally. N Rawiller was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. A Sanna reported that in this incident his saddle shifted forward, causing him some inconvenience for the remainder of the race.
Passing the 400 Metres, CITY WINNER and SUPERNATURAL bumped.
Passing the 300 Metres, OHANA raced tight inside WONDERFUL CHASER.
Over the final 100 Metres, SAVANNAH WIND was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LOYAL CRAFTSMAN and consequently was not able to be properly tested.
Close to the finishing line, FORTUNE GIGGLES shifted out and bumped HALL OF FAME.
HALL OF FAME lay in under pressure in the Straight.
Throughout the race, LOYAL CRAFTSMAN travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, N Callan reported that MY GIFT lay away from the rail throughout the race and then after being placed under pressure in the Straight gave ground noticeably. A veterinary inspection of MY GIFT immediately following the race found that horse to be distressed. Before being allowed to race again, MY GIFT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Also after the race, K C Leung stated that WONDERFUL CHASER did not travel well at any stage of the race. He said although the tempo of the race was only fair, he had to ride his mount along for some distance in the middle stages to maintain its position behind FORTUNE GIGGLES so as to prevent LOYAL CRAFTSMAN from shifting in front of WONDERFUL CHASER. He said after this WONDERFUL CHASER continued to travel only fairly and in the Straight gave ground and was disappointing. A veterinary inspection of WONDERFUL CHASER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Following the race, Z Purton was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of SAVANNAH WIND. He said however that the horse is more suited to racing at Happy Valley than Sha Tin. A veterinary inspection of SAVANNAH WIND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
LE PANACHE, HALL OF FAME and FORTUNE GIGGLES were sent for sampling.
<26/2/2018 Additional Veterinary Report>MY GIFT, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time the horse was found to be distressed. MY GIFT was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P F Yiu this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg with a sore right front tendon. As previously advised, MY GIFT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
