Racing Incident Report
NASHASHUK was withdrawn on 17.4.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GOOD COMPANION (C Y Ho). Before being allowed to race again, NASHASHUK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
BEST GIFT was checked when crowded for room on jumping between DR RACE and COUR VALANT which shifted out abruptly.
DR PROACTIVE began only fairly.
Shortly after the start, DASHING GAINER raced in restricted room between GOOD COMPANION and PEACE COMBINATION which shifted out.
From the outside barriers, LUNAR ZEPHYR and LUCKY STORM were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 900 Metres, BEST GIFT was steadied away from the heels of LUNAR ZEPHYR (B Prebble) which shifted in when not properly clear before being directed out to relieve the tightening to BEST GIFT. B Prebble was severely reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances he must ensure that he provides sufficient clearance when shifting ground.
For a considerable distance after the 800 Metres, BEST GIFT got its head up when proving difficult to settle and awkwardly placed behind LUNAR ZEPHYR.
COUR VALANT made the Home Turn awkwardly.
At the 100 Metres, the whip of A Sanna (DR RACE) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of T Berry (FLYING FORCE).
Throughout the race, OCEAN ROAR travelled wide and without cover.
DR PROACTIVE, DR RACE and PEACE COMBINATION were sent for sampling.
