He said for some distance thereafter COURIER MAGIC was checked to avoid runners in front and as a result became badly unbalanced and shifted out abruptly approaching the 1300 Metres. He added that he was also concerned with his mount’s action. Trainer K L Man stated that, in his view, the blinkers being reapplied to the horse caused it to race fiercely. He added that he had been pleased with COURIER MAGIC leading into today’s race and had expected it to run well. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The racing manners of COURIER MAGIC were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, COURIER MAGIC will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial from an inside barrier in amongst other horses and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. J McDonald stated that after settling back in the field his mount was disappointing in its failure to run on in the Home Straight. He said despite riding his mount along in the early stages it did not show sufficient pace to do so. He said after being crossed by TURF PHOENIX in the early stages SUPER PACE raced keenly and did not settle for some distance thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 800 Metres was eased when crowded between GLORY CLOUD and YEE CHEONG RAIDER which shifted out slightly. Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running behind COLOURFUL WINNER. After improving into a tight run between COLOURFUL WINNER and GLORY CLOUD leaving the 200 Metres then could not be fully tested until passing the 100 Metres when it shifted to the outside of GLORY CLOUD.

He said when AUTUMN VIBES then commenced to give ground near the 350 Metres he became held up behind that runner and as a consequence did not obtain clear running until near the 150 Metres when he shifted to the outside of BROWNNEEDSFURTHER.

12 10 AUTUMN VIBES (K150) 10 A Atzeni Leaving the 1000 Metres raced keenly when racing tight between EMBRACE ABERDEEN and LITTLE MONSTER. Near the 600 Metres was steadied away from EMBRACE ABERDEEN. A Atzeni reported that on jumping his mount made contact with the right side of its starting gate and as a consequence lost ground. He said as a result he was unable to hold a forward position as he was instructed. He added that AUTUMN VIBES was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. The performance of AUTUMN VIBES was considered disappointing as compared to its most recent starts. Before being allowed to race again, AUTUMN VIBES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
4 11 DIRIYA (K282) 3 M Guyon Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of M Guyon, 4th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.

Near the 850 Metres shifted in and away from JUBILANT WINNER despite the efforts of its rider and became unbalanced.
2 10 TOP PEAK (H441) 3 K Teetan Near the 850 Metres SUPERB GUY (A Atzeni) shifted in, resulting in JUBILANT WINNER being taken in onto SALUTE KING PRAWN which then shifted in and away from JUBILANT WINNER, crowding the running of TOP PEAK which became unbalanced. C L Chau reported that passing the 50 Metres his whip was knocked from his grasp by the whip of R Kingscote, rider of FORTUNE KINGO.

L Hewitson stated that whilst he was given the option of riding the horse in a more conservative manner today, when it jumped awkwardly, he was obliged to settle in a midfield position. He added in the Home Straight his mount did not run on and had recommended for the reapplication of blinkers for its next race start. Y L Chung (STAR SATYR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of LOCH TAY, resulting in LOCH TAY striking the heels of STAR SATYR and blundering badly. Y L Chung was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Saturday, 27 December 2025 and to expire on Friday, 2 January 2026 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record. R Kingscote stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. Y L Chung (STAR SATYR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 700 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of WIN EASE, resulting in WIN EASE having to be checked and losing its rightful running. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, WIN EASE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

12 14 STAR SATYR (K231) 13 Y L Chung (-2) Y L Chung pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the 1000 Metres (see LOCH TAY) and also pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 700 Metres (see WIN EASE). Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
WXNR 10 VERMILION TEMPEST (L093) E C W Wong (-5) Prior to the start being effected became fractious in the starting gates, resulting in the hood and bridle being displaced when the starting gate handler was endeavouring to assist the horse. As the Stewards were satisfied that the horse’s gear had been displaced prior to the start being effected and this had prejudiced the horse’s ability to jump and its chances in the race, the horse was declared a non-runner. As a result VERMILION TEMPEST raced throughout the event with its rider Apprentice E C W Wong having limited control when the bridle remained displaced.

8 4 KA YING ATTACK (J391) 13 J Orman Shifted out at the start and made contact with LUCKY SAM GOR. J Orman stated that from a wide barrier he was asked to take up a handy position but after commencing well as KA YING ATTACK was positioned wide he elected to go forward and lead to avoid racing wide. Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued those instructions as he was of the view that there was less pace in this race as compared to the horse’s first up run on 26 October 2025.
9 5 GUMMY GUMMY (H089) 5 L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded shortly after the start. After travelling a short distance was bumped by ETALON OR which shifted in and away from LITTLE PARADISE. Approaching the 1000 Metres was eased when racing tight to the inside of GRATIFIDE which was racing tight to the inside of TOP DRAGON.

11 8 GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) 1 Y L Chung (-2) Y L Chung stated that his mount enjoyed a comfortable run during the race but responded only fairly to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 9 GRATIFIDE (K550) 7 R Kingscote Shifted in shortly after the start and made contact with ETALON OR. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight R Kingscote stated that soon after entering the Home Straight he was mindful of ETALON OR being positioned to his inside and in advance of him looking to shift out. He said once ETALON OR had cleared him near the 300 Metres he then had GUMMY GUMMY improve to his inside and made contact with GRATIFIDE as GUMMY GUMMY endeavoured to shift out. He said as a consequence between the 300 Metres and the 100 Metres he did not use the whip on the horse and when he was satisfied that GRATIFIDE was giving its best during this section of the race he did not see it necessary to increase his vigour. He added that when he was satisfied he was not in a position to interfere with GUMMY GUMMY he was able to apply more vigour to the horse, particularly over the concluding stages. The Stewards noted the explanation provided by Jockey Kingscote and advised him that, wherever possible, he should ensure that he fully tests his mounts to obtain the best possible placing in the field.
