In the early stages of the Home Straight lay in, resulting in its rider J Orman changing his whip through to his right hand near the 350 Metres. J Orman was reprimanded in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 350 Metres.
8 8 GO GO GO (H196) 3 D Probert For some distance near the 600 Metres was steadied when held up behind SMASHING EXPRESS.
2 9 COOL BLUE (H011) 1 R Kingscote Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by YIU CHEUNG VICTORY which shifted in. Between the 350 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running. Lay out when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. Sent for sampling post-race.

1 3 EVER LUCK (K235) 14 J Orman Ran out abruptly near the 550 Metres despite the efforts of its rider J Orman to prevent the horse from shifting ground (protest/objection – see GEORGIAN SIGMA). Trainer M Newnham was advised that EVER LUCK will be required to perform satisfactorily in a turf track gallop around a bend at Sha Tin Racecourse and also a barrier trial around a bend prior to being permitted to race again. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 4 FOREST KING (K527) 3 C L Chau (-2) Jumped only fairly.
7 5 FOREVER FANCY (K354) 7 D Probert No report.
2 6 GEORGIAN SIGMA (L007) 8 Z Purton The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in due to an incident occurred after the 550 Metres where the 2nd placegetter GEORGIAN SIGMA was badly hampered when taken wider by the winner EVER LUCK. Subsequently the Stewards considered a protest/objection lodged by Jockey Z Purton and Trainer P C Ng alleging interference against EVER LUCK after the 550 Metres. After considering all the evidence it was established that EVER LUCK ran out abruptly near the 550 Metres despite the efforts of its rider J Orman to prevent the horse from shifting ground. In this incident GEORGIAN SIGMA was badly hampered when taken wider. After considering the incident, the manner in which both horses finished the race off and the margin of 1 ¾ lengths between the two horses at the end of the race, the Stewards overruled the protest/objection when they could not be comfortably satisfied that had the interference not have occurred that GEORGIAN SIGMA would have finished in advance of EVER LUCK. Accordingly, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. Z Purton stated that after being badly hampered near the 550 Metres his mount, which was having its first race start, became unbalanced and took some time to respond to his riding in the early stages of the Home Straight. Sent for sampling post-race.

10 5 PEARL OF PANG'S (J447) 5 K C Leung When questioned regarding the disappointing performance K C Leung stated that his mount travelled only fairly during the running of the race and making the Home Turn he endeavoured to shift out to take BULL ATTITUDE wider. He said when PEARL OF PANG’S did not respond to his efforts to so do it made contact with BULL ATTITUDE before failing to run on in the Home Straight. He added that, in his view, PEARL OF PANG’S did not appreciate the "Good to Firm” track conditions, particularly as it did not travel well during the running of the race. Trainer K L Man concurred with the opinion of Jockey Leung that the horse did not appreciate the "Good to Firm” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 6 SPLENDID FORCE (K120) 4 D Probert No report.
UR 7 ABSOLUTE AWAKENED (K039) 7 A Badel As the start was effected bounded in the air, resulting in its rider A Badel becoming unbalanced and being dislodged. Near the 1500 Metres became badly unbalanced when bumped heavily by BULL ATTITUDE (A Atzeni) which shifted in. Near the 1300 Metres was checked to avoid PEARL OF PANG’S when that runner shifted out when racing behind SPLENDID FORCE. As a result ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT made heavy contact with BULL ATTITUDE. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. L Ferraris (BRIGHT INHERITANCE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 100 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of BULL ATTITUDE, resulting in BULL ATTITUDE being taken in and contributing to ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT having to be checked and further resulting in THE HEIR, SOARING BRONCO and SERANGOON being crowded and SERANGOON being taken in across the running of GOOD GOOD which was also checked. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. After considering the contribution from BULL ATTITUDE, the Stewards determined the appropriate penalty was a fine of $30,000 be applied equivalent to half of his average daily earnings. A Atzeni (BULL ATTITUDE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 100 Metres after being taken in by BRIGHT INHERITANCE he allowed his mount to shift in and failed to make sufficient effort to prevent it from shifting in when not clear of ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT and contributing to ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT having to be checked, resulting in THE HEIR, SOARING BRONCO and SERANGOON being crowded and SERANGOON being taken in onto GOOD GOOD which was also checked. 5 1 MR COOL (K184) 12 A Atzeni When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and as to whether there was an opportunity to place his mount under pressure sooner than what he did A Atzeni stated that there had been no specific instructions other than to attempt to hold a handy position. He said when complying with his instructions MR COOL was unable to obtain cover and as a result was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He said entering the Home Straight MR COOL improved into the race without being pressured to do so and given his mount was carrying top weight of 135 lbs he was of the opinion it was in the horse’s best interests to allow it to continue to improve without being pressured to do so as it was making ground on the leaders. He added near the 250 Metres he then commenced to ride his mount along where MR COOL then finished the race off in a one-paced manner. He said he also rode the horse in this manner in the early stages of the Home Straight as MR COOL had shown the ability to finish off strongly when it barrier trialed on 14 October 2025 when successful on that occasion. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Atzeni in the circumstances were reasonable. Sent for sampling post-race.

He said as he did so MASSIVE SOVEREIGN then commenced to race keenly behind STEPS AHEAD for some distance thereafter. He added that leaving the 600 Metres he elected to allow MASSIVE SOVEREIGN to improve to the outside of STEPS AHEAD to prevent it from continuing to over-race and to also make a forward move as he was concerned MASSIVE SOVEREIGN would take some time to respond to his riding under its top weight of 135 lbs. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Avdulla were reasonable in the circumstances.

As JOHANNES BRAHMS continued to improve to the inside of SKY HEART it then was checked near the 350 Metres when SKY HEART was taken in by HONG LOK GOLF which shifted in when being badly crowded by STEPS AHEAD (C L Chau) when that runner lay in and away from MASSIVE SOVEREIGN. C L Chau was severely reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort to prevent his mounts from shifting in to avoid making contact with other runners. 13 7 VOYAGE SAMURAI (J026) 1 K C Leung Near the 350 Metres was eased to avoid JOHANNES BRAHMS when that horse was checked. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of VOYAGE SAMURAI, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, VOYAGE SAMURAI will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ENTHRALLED, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ENTHRALLED will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

10 9 AGENDA (K160) 8 R Kingscote Jumped only fairly. When questioned regarding his riding R Kingscote stated that he was instructed to hold a handy position preferably with cover. He said in the early stages when caught wide and when KING OF SELECTION was positioned to his outside he elected to allow AGENDA to stride forward to attempt to obtain a position with cover. He said when unable to obtain cover he allowed AGENDA to stride forward with a view to racing to the outside of S J TOURBILLON. He said when S J TOURBILLON then shifted away from the rail this resulted in AGENDA continuing to race wide and therefore he elected to allow the horse to continue forward. He added after S J TOURBILLON crossed to the lead he endeavoured to steady his mount to set a more sustainable pace but did not wish to place too much pressure on the horse to avoid it over-racing. He said although he was aware the pace of the event was being run inside of standard time he felt it was in the best interests of the horse to maintain a comfortable rhythm as AGENDA is one-paced and would have to be able to run out a strong 2000 Metres. After considering his explanation the Stewards advised Jockey Kingscote that, wherever possible, he should endeavour to set a more sustainable pace to afford his horses with the best opportunity to finish the race off.
8 10 MIGHTY STRENGTH (H450) 9 E C W Wong (-5) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 11 S J TOURBILLON (G138) 5 P N Wong (-7) When questioned regarding her riding in the early and middle stages and in particular the fast pace that was set during the running of the race Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to lead the event. She said in the early stages when crossed by MIGHTY STRENGTH she was content to remain racing behind that runner but after being crossed her mount commenced to race keenly and for this reason she shifted to the outside of MIGHTY STRENGTH with a view to maintaining a position to that horse’s outside. She added when AGENDA improved to her outside near the 1500 Metres S J TOURBILLON continued to race keenly and refused to settle which resulted in the horse racing forward and crossing MIGHTY STRENGTH to lead. She said although she was aware that the pace of the event was fast she was unable to set a slower tempo due to AGENDA being positioned to her outside. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of S J TOURBILLON, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. He said with these instructions in mind he followed HELIOS EXPRESS into the Home Straight where he remained racing behind that horse. He added that he had expected HELIOS EXPRESS to take him into the event further than it did which required him then to shift to that runner’s outside near the 250 Metres where he placed his mount under full pressure and it ran home well. Making the Home Turn was then taken wider by TOP DRAGON which shifted out to improve. M F Poon stated that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
