13 4 FRANTANCK (H429) 12 H Y Yuen (-10) Apprentice H Y Yuen could offer no excuse for the horse’s performance. Trainer P C Ng stated that, in his opinion, the horse was disadvantaged by having to work in the early stages to obtain the lead. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be "roarer” which had previously been reported. The performance of FRANTANCK was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, FRANTANCK will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
7 5 IRON LEGION (J459) 2 Y L Chung (-2) In the early stages raced keenly. For some distance near the 1100 Metres was steadied away from POWER SUMMIT. Approaching the 1000 Metres IRON LEGION, which continued to race keenly, was then steadied when crowded by POWER SUMMIT which was taken in by PANDA LEGEND (A Atzeni) when that runner shifted in whilst not clear. A Atzeni was reprimanded. Y L Chung stated that after jumping only fairly and then being steadied when crowded between HAPPY ALLIANCE and GENERAL SMART which shifted out slightly, his mount settled further back than instructed.
3 6 SOARING BRONCO (J162) 8 J Orman Between the 450 Metres and the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between JOLLY JUMPER and PERFECTO MOMENTS. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 7 GENERAL SMART (K138) 1 J McDonald Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.
14 8 HAPPY ALLIANCE (K316) 3 L Ferraris The performance of HAPPY ALLIANCE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY ALLIANCE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 9 JOLLY JUMPER (K110) 13 H Bowman H Bowman could offer no excuse for the horse weakening in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of JOLLY JUMPER, a last start winner, was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, JOLLY JUMPER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

12 12 ORIENTAL SURPRISE (K028) 14 P N Wong (-7) Apprentice P N Wong stated that with the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time she was obliged to make use of her mount to hold a position outside the lead. She said as a consequence ORIENTAL SURPRISE was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, ORIENTAL SURPRISE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
5 13 HARRY'S HERO (H332) 10 H Bentley On jumping was taken out by PANDA LEGEND and as a result made contact with PERFECTO MOMENTS. Raced keenly in the middle stages.

11 5 SUPER LOVE (K118) 7 L Ferraris A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
14 6 GREEN ANGEL (L255) 11 H Bowman Shifted in at the start and made contact with Z PRINCE. When questioned H Bowman stated that at its first race start GREEN ANGEL showed pace but then weakened under pressure in the Home Straight. He said whilst the horse led in a barrier trial on 14 May 2026 it did so without being pressured to do so. He said today he was given the option of riding the horse in a more conservative manner to give it an opportunity to finish the race off. He said GREEN ANGEL jumped reasonably well and he rode the horse in a neutral manner but when positioned to the outside of SUPER LOVE in the early stages GREEN ANGEL raced keenly and refused to settle. He added when SUPER LOVE held its position to his inside GREEN ANGEL was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event where it continued to race keenly throughout the middle stages. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions and the reasons he issued those instructions.
13 7 GUTSY BRAVO (L178) 13 J Orman Jumped awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages when being steadied to obtain a position with cover. Raced greenly in the Home Straight. J Orman stated that his mount was disadvantaged by the wide barrier and the fact that it then raced ungenerously when caught wide. He said GUSTY BRAVO would be better suited when able to obtain a position with cover amongst other horses. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 8 HAPPY PROMISE (L266) 4 J McDonald After travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded between JUST FOLLOW ME and COME FAST FAY FAY, both of which shifted ground slightly.
8 9 Z PRINCE (L256) 10 M F Poon Jumped awkwardly and then shortly after was steadied when crowded between GOLDEN WIN and GREEN ANGEL which shifted in.
10 10 JUST FOLLOW ME (K332) 3 K Teetan Bumped shortly after the start. K Teetan reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
5 11 GORGEOUS VICTORY (L087) 2 Y L Chung (-2) Had its left front plate refitted at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. This resulted in the start being delayed. Shortly after the start was crowded between JUST FOLLOW ME and NYX GLUCK which lay out. Between the 400 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.
9 12 GOLDEN WIN (L026) 9 P N Wong (-7) Between the 350 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running.
12 13 DAILY TROPHY (H283) 8 J Moreira J Moreira stated that after his mount commenced well he elected to take up an on-pace position. He said in the early stages he was obliged to ride his mount forward to cross JUST FOLLOW ME to avoid covering additional ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
1 14 COME FAST FAY FAY (K121) 5 Z Purton When questioned regarding the horse leading Z Purton stated that he was instructed to ensure the horse jumped well as it had a tendency to miss the start at its previous race starts. He said after making use of the horse from the starting gates to ensure it jumped well COME FAST FAY FAY showed sufficient pace to lead the event without having to be made use of to do so. He added as a result COME FAST FAY FAY raced in a more forward position than what had been intended. Trainer K H Ting confirmed the instructions issued. Sent for sampling post-race.

8 4 GROUPER (L233) 4 J McDonald After travelling a short distance was eased when momentarily crowded by SIGHT DREAMER which shifted in before being corrected. Bumped approaching the 300 Metres. J McDonald stated that his mount jumped only fairly and then he was able to improve forward to hold an on-pace position as intended. He said in the Home Straight GROUPER did not respond to his riding. Trainer C S Shum stated that GROUPER may have been advantaged by racing on a "Good to Yielding” track at its first race start but in addition it would derive a further fitness benefit from today’s performance. 12 12 RIDING HIGH (J403) 8 H Y Yuen (-10) When questioned Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that her instructions were to go forward. She said in accordance with those instructions she rode her mount along in the early stages, however, when MEGA CAPTAIN and FLOWING RICHES maintained their position to her inside RIDING HIGH was obliged to race wide and without cover to the outside of those runners. She said approaching the first turn when unable to cross those runners she elected to take hold of her mount with a view to obtaining cover behind FLOWING RICHES. She said as she did so making the turn leaving the 900 Metres RIDING HIGH commenced to lay out and raced keenly and as a consequence she was unable to restrain her mount sufficiently to obtain a position with cover. She added as a consequence RIDING HIGH was obliged to race wide and without cover for the remainder of the middle stages before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
14 13 MAGIC SUPER (K330) 12 H T Mo (-2) The performance of MAGIC SUPER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. 10 6 GRAND PATCH (L293) 11 H Bowman Near the 1000 Metres, when racing keenly, shifted in towards JUBILANT STAR and as a result was steadied away from JUBILANT STAR. H Bowman stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but when his mount jumped only fairly and then was crowded by CALL ME SPARKLE which shifted out at the start it settled further back than anticipated. He said GRAND PATCH found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight from back in the field due to the early and middle stages being run slightly outside of standard time. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

11 8 LEADING DRAGON (L083) 3 P N Wong (-7) J Moreira (SILVER SPURS) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of LEADING DRAGON, resulting in LEADING DRAGON being checked to avoid SILVER SPURS. J Moreira was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Saturday, 13 June 2026 at Sha Tin. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record. Apprentice P N Wong stated that the instructions were to lead. She said when J Moreira, rider of SILVER SPURS, showed the intent in the early stages to cross her mount she elected to obtain a position with cover behind that runner. She added that when under pressure in the Home Straight LEADING DRAGON finished the race off in a one-paced manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 9 POLAR PATCH (L211) 4 L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that from a more favourable barrier he was asked to hold an on-pace position.
13 10 JUBILANT STAR (K410) 8 E Brown E Brown expressed concern with the horse’s action in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, JUBILANT STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
2 11 SILVER SPURS (J043) 14 J Moreira J Moreira pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the 800 Metres (see LEADING DRAGON). Sent for sampling post-race.

Z Purton was severely reprimanded. E Brown stated that his mount lay in throughout the event and finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. He added the horse may be suited by the removal of the ear plugs for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

14 2 AERODYNAMICS (K564) 9 Z Purton Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by FALLON. Z Purton stated that when under pressure in the Home Straight his mount did not respond and when he was concerned there was something amiss with it near the 300 Metres he eased it down from the event. Trainer M Newnham stated that the horse had pleased him leading into the race and was at a loss to explain today’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of AERODYNAMICS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AERODYNAMICS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
13 3 LO RIDER (K161) 4 J Moreira Jumped only fairly. J Moreira stated that the horse raced too keenly throughout the event and as a result did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LO RIDER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, LO RIDER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

6 9 THE BOOM BOX (K076) 11 C Y Ho C Y Ho replaced E Brown as the rider of THE BOOM BOX. Jockey Brown was fined the sum of $2,000 for being unable to make the weight on THE BOOM BOX. In assessing penalty the Stewards took into account his good record and the fact that he notified the Stewards prior to the commencement of betting.
12 10 CALL ME MAGNIFIQUE (L339) 13 Y L Chung (-2) Shortly after the start was steadied when racing tight to the inside of SERAPH GABRIEL which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Y L Chung stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
8 11 THE GOLDEN KNIGHT (K341) 6 C Williams Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 350 Metres was briefly held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of AERODYNAMICS. C Williams reported that his mount was making a respiratory noise after the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in as they were of the opinion that an incident occurred for some distance approaching the 200 Metres which cast doubt on whether ROMANTIC WARRIOR (J McDonald) should be declared the winner due to interference suffered by DEEP MONSTER. When Jockey Moreira and the connections of DEEP MONSTER did not lodge a protest/objection and the Stewards were satisfied, having regard to the 2 lengths margin between ROMANTIC WARRIOR and DEEP MONSTER, that there were not sufficient grounds to do so, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. At a subsequent inquiry, J McDonald was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 300 Metres he directed his mount in when not clear of DEEP MONSTER, resulting in DEEP MONSTER being taken from its rightful running, further resulting in DEEP MONSTER being checked to avoid NUMBERS near the 200 Metres, causing DEEP MONSTER to shift out and make heavy contact with ROMANTIC WARRIOR. J McDonald was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 3 June 2026 and to expire on Thursday, 11 June 2026 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). In addition, Jockey McDonald was fined $120,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 3 and the consequences grade 2.
9 3 CAP FERRAT (K021) 9 C Williams C Williams stated that his mount did not run out a strong 2400 Metres and after the event was feeling the effects of a hard run. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

2 5 NUMBERS (L080) 5 K C Leung K C Leung stated that the instructions were to endeavour to find cover behind the expected leader ROMANTIC THOR. Trainer F C Lor confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued those instructions to attempt to have the horse run out a strong 2400 Metres. He added NUMBERS raced too keenly and as a result was unable to obtain cover. Sent for sampling post-race.

10 3 GORGEOUS WIN (J008) 3 B Avdulla Made contact with GALACTIC VOYAGE on jumping due to both runners shifting ground. Approaching the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid SIX PACK (A Badel) which shifted in. A Badel was reprimanded and advised to ensure he is two lengths clear when shifting ground.
6 4 BEAUTY BOLT (K491) 9 Z Purton Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters. Z Purton stated that he was obliged to make too much use of his mount in the early stages to cross runners to his inside and as a result his mount was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
1 5 SIX PACK (K061) 6 A Badel Crowded shortly after the start. Over the concluding stages lay in under pressure and approaching the winning post shifted out when being corrected by its rider. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 6 INFINITE RESOLVE (K369) 10 L Ferraris When questioned regarding his riding rounding the Home Turn and in the early stages of the Home Straight and the reason he did not shift to the outside of MIGHTY MASTS sooner, L Ferraris stated that he was instructed to settle behind midfield and to save the horse for one run in the Home Straight as it only possesses a short sprint. He said for this reason after being positioned behind MIGHTY MASTS rounding the Home Turn he elected to improve to the inside of MIGHTY MASTS to follow SIX PACK, one of the favourites in the event. He said as a result INFINITE RESOLVE then did not obtain clear running between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres when it shifted to the outside of MIGHTY MASTS. He added that in hindsight he would have been better served by remaining on the back of MIGHTY MASTS as he made the Home Turn to save the horse up for a short sprint in the Home Straight. Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions and the reasons he issued those instructions.
3 7 MIGHTY MASTS (L153) 8 K Teetan Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between BEAUTY BOLT and JUNEAU PRIDE which was taken out by SIX PACK when SIX PACK was taken out by WE ARE HERO (Apprentice P N Wong). Apprentice Wong was advised in similar circumstances she would be expected to make a greater effort to straighten her mounts.

4 9 GALACTIC VOYAGE (K514) 4 C L Chau (-2) Made contact with GORGEOUS WIN on jumping due to both runners shifting ground. Approaching the 1100 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by JUNEAU PRIDE.
11 10 WE ARE HERO (G207) 5 P N Wong (-7) Near the 700 Metres, when racing keenly, was shifted to the outside of BEAUTY BOLT and as a result made contact with JUNEAU PRIDE. Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to go forward and race outside the expected leader HEALTHY HAPPY. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 11 JUNEAU PRIDE (J443) 7 A Atzeni Crowded shortly after the start. Raced keenly in the early stages and approaching the 1100 Metres shifted in when being steadied away from SIX PACK and made contact with GALACTIC VOYAGE. Was allowed to stride forward from the 800 Metres when left racing without cover. As a result JUNEAU PRIDE raced wide and without cover thereafter. Near the 700 Metres was hampered when bumped by WE ARE HERO which shifted out. Leaving the 100 Metres lay in and away from SIX PACK. Sent for sampling post-race.

13 3 TITAN PEGASUS (L213) 1 E Brown When questioned regarding his riding in the early stages of the Home Straight E Brown stated that after being held up behind ELITE GOLF, he shifted to the outside of ELITE GOLF near the 400 Metres, but he was reluctant to continue to shift out as he identified calls from a number of riders to his outside. He said for this reason he commenced cautiously to shift to the outside of VIGOR HAPPINESS and as he did so he was then prevented from shifting out further when STAR RISE improved to his outside. He said as a consequence he was then obliged to check to avoid VIGOR HAPPINESS near the 300 Metres when that runner gave ground quickly, resulting in his mount shifting out and making contact with STAR RISE.

Near the 150 Metres was checked when crowded between ELITE GOLF (H Bentley) which shifted out slightly and SUGAR SUGAR (J Moreira) which improved to the inside of FLYING FORTRESS (H Bowman) as that runner commenced to give ground and shift in slightly. Jockeys Bentley, Moreira and Bowman were all advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. STAR RISE then could not be ridden out to the finish of the event when held up behind SUGAR SUGAR. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

After considering the evidence the Stewards advised Jockeys Bowman, Atzeni and Avdulla to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Was removed from the barriers, examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame in its right hind leg. Was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Before being allowed to race again, PRIME SUCCESS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
WV THUNDER BLAZE (L188) J Orman Withdrawn on 23.5.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter CLASS. Before being allowed to race again, THUNDER BLAZE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
