Racing Incident Report
LUCKY CORDELIA was withdrawn on 18.5.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter ALL OUR WAY (C Munce). I'M NO SQUARE was withdrawn on 19.5.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left eye injury) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter COP HILL LAD (H K Yim). Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY CORDELIA and I'M NO SQUARE will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. At the time of declaration, G Mossé, the stable retained jockey of Trainer A Lee, was declared as the rider of I'M NO SQUARE. As JOYFUL WORLD trained by Mr Lee was declared to be ridden by F Coetzee, the stable retained jockey of Trainer A S Cruz, S Dye was substituted as the rider of I'M NO SQUARE. For this breach of the regulations, G Mossé was fined $2,000. FIRST KNIGHT, COP HILL LAD and FLY ME TO THE MOON were slow to begin. Near the 600 Metres, BUDDIES POWER lost its position after becoming unbalanced when racing tight inside X-SPEED which got its head on the side and shifted in slightly. Throughout the race, FLY ME TO THE MOON and COP HILL LAD travelled wide and without cover. At the 100 Metres, B Prebble (BODACIOUS) dropped his whip. B Prebble explained after dropping his whip at the 100 Metres, his left foot shifted in the stirrup. He said he continued to ride BODACIOUS out and then just prior to the line his left foot slipped from the stirrup which he did not regain prior to the end of the race. A Delpech (BUDDIES POWER) said the intention was to lead on the horse, the same when it was successful at its last start. He said BUDDIES POWER was slow to begin out of the barriers and then was off the bridle for the entire race. He said at no time did BUDDIES POWER appear comfortable in today's track conditions. F Coetzee (JOYFUL WORLD) explained the horse travelled outside the leader as expected. He said when on the bridle JOYFUL WORLD travelled satisfactorily, however, when under pressure in the Home Straight failed to respond and raced in a manner which indicated the horse was not suited by today's track conditions. BUDDIES POWER and JOYFUL WORLD were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BUDDIES POWER and JOYFUL WORLD after the race did not show any significant findings. BODACIOUS and SHATIN WIN WIN were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported PO ON GEM had lost its right front plate.
