Racing Incident Report

MIRACLE DRAGON was slow to begin. BAYVIEW LAD began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped LORD CAIRNS. On jumping, A BETTER DRAGON and THAT'S WIN bumped. Shortly after the start, LORD CAIRNS shifted out and bumped A BETTER DRAGON which as result became badly unbalanced, shifted ground and bumped THAT'S WIN which also became unbalanced. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SPARKLE was bumped by RENA'S WUNDERBAR which had its head on the side and was shifting in. As a result of this, SPARKLE became unbalanced, after passing the winning post on the first occasion shifted out, causing RENA'S WUNDERBAR to be crowded for room inside A BETTER DRAGON which at this time was carried in by X-SPEED. MIRACLE DRAGON, which was following, was steadied to avoid the heels of RENA'S WUNDERBAR. No action was taken. At the 1300 Metres, SPARKLE became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by RENA'S WUNDERBAR which at this time was awkwardly placed inside the heels of A BETTER DRAGON which was carried in slightly by X-SPEED. In this incident, RENA'S WUNDERBAR lost ground. After the 1100 Metres, SINOSPIEL was checked to avoid the heels of A BETTER DRAGON which was steadied to avoid the heels of X-SPEED which in turn was steadied away from the heels of SUNRISE LINING. RENA'S WUNDERBAR and WINWIN COMBO, which were following SINOSPIEL, were hampered in consequence. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, A BETTER DRAGON became unbalanced after being bumped on the shoulder by X-SPEED. In the early part of the Straight, RENA'S WUNDERBAR proved difficult to shift out from behind THAT'S WIN. At the 250 Metres, WINWIN COMBO was bumped and carried wider by MIRACLE DRAGON which shifted out while hanging. After this, MIRACLE DRAGON continued to hang out for the remainder of the race. At the 150 Metres, LORD CAIRNS was brushed and carried in by FRAMES DEPOT. At the 50 Metres, E Saint-Martin (FRAMES DEPOT) dropped his whip. For the major part of the race, THAT'S WIN travelled wide and without cover. WINWIN COMBO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WINWIN COMBO after the race did not show any significant findings. LORD CAIRNS, FRAMES DEPOT and A BETTER DRAGON were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported LORD CAIRNS was displaying signs of the "thumps" and had blood present at the left nostril. An endoscopic examination confirmed LORD CAIRNS as an official bleeder. Before being allowed to race again, LORD CAIRNS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
