Racing Incident Report

Whilst in the saddling stalls, LET ME HANDLE IT had its right front plate refitted. LET ME HANDLE IT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Near the 100 Metres, M Chadwick (SUPER PISTACHIO) dropped his left rein. When questioned, H W Lai stated that he had been instructed to take up a forward position on MR BOND in the early stages but he was to sit off the anticipated leader of the race, SUPER PISTACHIO in the middle stages. He said he was then instructed to improve his position making the turn out of the Back Straight near the 900 Metres. Trainer L Ho stated that, in his opinion, MR BOND is one-paced and for this reason he instructed Jockey Lai to take up a forward position. He said he instructed Jockey Lai to commence to improve his position after the 1000 Metres as he did not believe that he would be able to allow SUPER PISTACHIO to establish a break at this point of the race as MR BOND would not be able to finish off the race as strongly as that horse. Mr Ho was advised that his explanation would be reported, however, he must ensure that he instructs his riders to ride their mounts in such a fashion so as to ensure that those horses are given every possible chance. MIGHTY HIGH and MR MEDICI were sent for sampling.
