Racing Incident Report

JUST MISTERE began only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of SAMMY’S FALCON which shifted out.
LA COTE DE BLEU began awkwardly.
EAGLE KING was crowded for room at the start between NEWS SUPREME and GOOD TIMES ROLL which shifted in.
From a wide barrier, POSITIVE ENERGY, which was leaning on the outside of its stall as the start was effected, was shifted across behind runners shortly after the start.
DIAMOND START was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Making the turn after the 900 Metres, EAGLE KING lost ground when momentarily crowded for room between JUST MISTERE and GLOBAL FAME, both of which shifted minimal ground.
Near the 150 Metres, JUST MISTERE shifted out and brushed the hindquarters of WINNING ADVANTAGE.
Approaching the 100 Metres, HIT A HOME RUN, which was inclined to lay in under pressure, was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of GLOBAL FAME when shifting across behind that runner.
Throughout the race, LOTUS LOVE and MAN AND MING travelled wide and without cover.
The performance of MAN AND MING, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MAN AND MING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SAMMY’S FALCON, Z Purton stated that at its most recent start over 1650 Metres at Happy Valley, SAMMY’S FALCON was able to obtain a more forward position than usual and the horse raced well. He said coming back in distance to 1400 Metres for today’s race, he had to ride SAMMY’S FALCON along in the early stages to obtain a similar position. He said after being crossed by LOTUS LOVE making the turn after the 900 Metres, SAMMY’S FALCON came off the bridle and gave ground abruptly in the Straight. He added, in his opinion, SAMMY’S FALCON did not handle the tempo of today’s race when ridden in a more forward position than sometimes had been previously the case over the course and distance. A veterinary inspection of SAMMY’S FALCON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SAMMY’S FALCON, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SAMMY’S FALCON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of JUST MISTERE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
YOU AND M, GLOBAL FAME and HIT A HOME RUN were sent for sampling.
