Racing Incident Report

PREMIUM CHAMPION began only fairly.
HOLMES LEGEND shifted out shortly after the start and inconvenienced HAPPY CONTENDER.
From wide barriers, LOTUS STRIKES BACK and VICTORY BOYS were steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After being crossed by PACKING DRAGON after the 1300 Metres, UNIQUE HAPPIEST proved difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse for a short distance.
After initially racing outside of RAZOR QUEST, ALLCASH was ridden along after the 1300 Metres in an attempt to prevent that horse from shifting out. However, RAZOR QUEST was able to shift out from behind UNIQUE HAPPIEST at this time which resulted in ALLCASH having to be steadied near the 1100 Metres to obtain a trailing position behind RAZOR QUEST.
Rounding the Home Turn, EASY HEDGE was awkwardly placed behind HOLMES LEGEND and HAPPY SPIRIT.
Passing the 200 Metres, EASY HEDGE was shifted to the outside of RAZOR QUEST after being disappointed for running between that horse and HAPPY SPIRIT.
Throughout the race, SEMPITERNAL travelled wide and without cover and commenced to give ground from the 500 Metres. A veterinary inspection of SEMPITERNAL immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. The performance of SEMPITERNAL, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SEMPITERNAL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, O Doleuze stated that he was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of HAPPY CONTENDER. He said the horse did not travel comfortably at any stage of the race and was then disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY CONTENDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that RAZOR QUEST had sustained a cut to the inside of the left hind cannon.
A veterinary inspection of UNIQUE HAPPIEST immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
PACKING DRAGON and VICTORY BOYS were sent for sampling.
