Racing Incident Report

HORSE SUPREMO began very awkwardly and lost ground.
Shortly after the start, TRUMP was steadied to obtain cover.
FOXBAT became unbalanced shortly after the start when bumped on the hindquarters by KWAICHUNG BROTHERS which was taken out by BUMBLE BABY. In this incident, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS was hampered when crowded for room between FOXBAT and BUMBLE BABY.
After travelling a short distance, HORSE SUPREMO shifted out away from the heels of BEEKELY, resulting in CROWN AVENUE being inconvenienced.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, BEEKELY was hampered when crowded for room between TRENDIFUL which lay in and BUMBLE BABY which got its head on the side and hung out making the turn.
Near the 450 Metres, BEEKELY got its head on the side and lay in away from the heels of TRENDIFUL, resulting in FOXBAT being checked when crowded for room outside PERPETUAL JOYANCE.
In the early part of the Straight, BUMBLE BABY was held up for clear running.
Passing the 250 Metres, BEEKELY shifted out marginally and bumped TRUMP which was inclined to lay in, resulting in TRUMP becoming unbalanced.
Passing the 200 Metres, CROWN AVENUE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FOXBAT.
Near the 150 Metres, TRUMP shifted in abruptly under pressure, resulting in BEEKELY being momentarily inconvenienced.
Also near the 150 Metres, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS, which was finishing off the race well, was shifted in away from the heels of LUNAR ZEPHYR in an attempt to improve into tight running between LUNAR ZEPHYR and RUGBY DIAMOND. Prior to being able to establish this run, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS was checked when RUGBY DIAMOND was taken out by BUMBLE BABY which got its head on the side and shifted out further after improving into tight running between RUGBY DIAMOND and BEAUTY CONNECTION.
Throughout the race, LUNAR ZEPHYR travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, J Moreira (TRENDIFUL) reported that after placing his mount under heavy pressure rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, TRENDIFUL commenced to give ground and did not feel comfortable in its action. He said as he was concerned that the horse may have bled, he eased it down over the final 200 Metres. A veterinary inspection of TRENDIFUL immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. The performance of TRENDIFUL, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TRENDIFUL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
BEAUTY CONNECTION, PERPETUAL JOYANCE and TRUMP were sent for sampling.
