Racing Incident Report

On arrival at the Start, BO DUKE’s right hind plate was adjusted. BO DUKE was subsequently examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
BO DUKE shifted in on jumping, resulting in KING BOUNTIFUL being crowded for room outside AMAZING GOLD.
KING OF MONGOLIA shifted in at the start and bumped GOLD VELVET. KING OF MONGOLIA was then ridden along, however, after the 1700 Metres was steadied to obtain cover.
Shortly after the start, PROUD SKY raced tight between CASA MASTER and FANCY MUSIC which was taken in by BALAY BALAY.
From a wide barrier, GOOD CHOICE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Near the 1600 Metres, KING WINSA shifted in and bumped BALAY BALAY.
For some distance approaching the winning post on the first occasion, AMAZING GOLD got its head up when awkwardly placed behind BO DUKE.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, CASA MASTER commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when racing close to the heels of KING OF MONGOLIA.
Making the turn near the 1000 Metres, KING BOUNTIFUL commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of AMAZING GOLD.
Near the 850 Metres, AMAZING GOLD and GOLD VELVET raced tight. Then near the 800 Metres, GOLD VELVET was bumped by AMAZING GOLD which shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of PO CHING TREASURE.
After initially being shifted to the inside of BALAY BALAY passing the 300 Metres to obtain clear running, KING WINSA was then directed out passing the 200 Metres when BALAY BALAY drifted in.
For the majority of the race, PROUD SKY travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned, Z Purton stated that he had to ride FANCY MUSIC along when the field commenced to quicken approaching the 900 Metres as a result of BO DUKE being ridden forward. He said FANCY MUSIC did not respond to his riding and he had to ride the horse aggressively after the 700 Metres in an attempt to have it improve its position. He said, despite being hard ridden, FANCY MUSIC did not respond and as he felt that something may be amiss with the horse, he eased it down rounding the Home Turn. A veterinary inspection of FANCY MUSIC immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of FANCY MUSIC, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FANCY MUSIC will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of CASA MASTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
KING WINSA, PO CHING TREASURE and KING BOUNTIFUL were sent for sampling.
