Racing Incident Report

TURIN PEARL was slow to begin.
From wide barriers, MARQULA, GONNA RUN and JADE FORTUNE were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After travelling a short distance, WHAMPOA STAR raced tight between TURIN REDSTAR and TRAVEL FIRST which shifted in marginally.
Passing the 1200 Metres, JADE FORTUNE was crowded for room between MARQULA and GONNA RUN, both of which shifted ground.
Passing the 1000 Metres, QUICK RETURN got its head up when awkwardly placed behind HANG’S DECISION.
After the 1000 Metres, BIZ POWER was left racing wide and without cover.
MARQULA travelled wide and without cover until near the 800 Metres.
Near the 800 Metres, WHAMPOA STAR was left racing wide and without cover.
Shortly after entering the Straight, LET US WIN raced tight between WHAMPOA STAR and TRAVEL FIRST which improved into tight running outside BIZ POWER. Passing the 200 Metres, TRAVEL FIRST and LET US WIN were then crowded for room between BIZ POWER and WHAMPOA STAR, both of which shifted ground. In this incident, WHAMPOA STAR became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by LET US WIN.
TURIN REDSTAR was held up for clear running until passing the 250 Metres.
QUICK RETURN had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching and passing the 200 Metres.
Passing the 200 Metres, HANG’S DECISION had difficulty obtaining clear running. Then near the 175 Metres, CALIFORNIA JOY was bumped by HANG’S DECISION which improved into tight running inside RED MARVEL.
A veterinary inspection of JADE FORTUNE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
QUICK RETURN, TURIN REDSTAR and GONNA RUN were sent for sampling.
<3/5/2018 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that LET US WIN was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, LET US WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
