Racing Incident Report

GREAT WISDOM was slow to begin.
EMPIRE OF MONGOLIA shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of AMBITIOUS SPEEDY.
Shortly after the start, GLENEALY PRIZE was inconvenienced when crowded for room between VICTORY FOLLOW ME which shifted in and SNOWHOOVES which was taken out by RAINBOW GOLD.
From the outside barriers, DOUBLE POINT and EQUITY DOCTRINE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SNOWHOOVES was steadied after racing tight between RAINBOW BOLD and VICTORY FOLLOW ME which got its head on the side and shifted in away from FURIOUS PEGASUS. After this, VICTORY FOLLOW ME was awkwardly placed outside the heels of RAINBOW GOLD.
Near the 650 Metres, GLENEALY PRIZE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FURIOUS PEGASUS.
Passing the 500 Metres, EMPIRE OF MONGOLIA and FURIOUS PEGASUS raced tight as EMPIRE OF MONGOLIA attempted to shift to the outside of SNOWHOOVES.
At the entrance to the Straight, AMBITIOUS SPEEDY, which was giving ground after being hard ridden in the middle stages, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of GLENEALY PRIZE.
Near the 150 Metres, DOUBLE POINT was shifted to the outside of EQUITY DOCTRINE after being disappointed for running for some distance between that horse and EXPONENTS.
Throughout the race, WINNINGLI and HAPPY BEAUTY travelled wide and without cover.
The performance of HAPPY OUT THERE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY OUT THERE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, B Prebble reported that after being ridden along to obtain a forward position in the early stages, AMBITIOUS SPEEDY and WINNINGLI bumped after the 1400 Metres. He said after this AMBITIOUS SPEEDY appeared reluctant to maintain its position and he had to commence riding his mount along aggressively after the 900 Metres in an attempt to maintain its position outside the eventual winner VICTORY FOLLOW ME. He said, despite being ridden along, AMBITIOUS SPEEDY would not respond to his riding and then in the Straight gave ground noticeably. A veterinary inspection of AMBITIOUS SPEEDY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. The performance of AMBITIOUS SPEEDY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AMBITIOUS SPEEDY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of RAINBOW GOLD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
VICTORY FOLLOW ME and FURIOUS PEGASUS were sent for sampling.
<25/1/2018 Additional Veterinary Report>AMBITIOUS SPEEDY, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. AMBITIOUS SPEEDY was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A Lee this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. As previously advised, AMBITIOUS SPEEDY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
