Racing Incident Report
ASSOCIATION FANS began very awkwardly and lost ground.
LUCKY WIN WIN was crowded for room on jumping between SEE ME NOW and GLORIOUS LEGACY, both of which shifted ground.
From the outside barrier, THE FULL BLOOM was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Passing the 1600 Metres, GREAT JOY was awkwardly placed outside the heels of GLORIOUS LEGACY when being steadied to obtain cover.
For some distance approaching and passing the 1300 Metres, THE SYLPH raced ungenerously, lay out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of LUCKY WIN WIN.
After the 1300 Metres, JOYFUL PARK was left racing wide and without cover.
Making the turn approaching the 1000 Metres, LUCKY WIN WIN got its head on the side and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of JOYFUL PARK. DUTCH WINDMILL, which was racing outside LUCKY WIN WIN, was bumped by that horse in this incident.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, THE SYLPH raced tight inside SKY TREASURE which lay in. After this, THE SYLPH continued to lay out towards the heels of SKY TREASURE.
Approaching the 300 Metres, GREAT JOY raced close to the heels of DUTCH WINDMILL when being shifted across behind that horse to obtain clear running.
Over the concluding stages, GREAT JOY shifted in under pressure.
The performances of GLORIOUS LEGACY and LUCKY WIN WIN, which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GLORIOUS LEGACY and LUCKY WIN WIN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, T Berry was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of MASTER BERLINI. He said after having to ride his mount along from a wide barrier in the early stages to obtain a forward position, MASTER BERLINI travelled well, however, gave ground noticeably in the Straight. He added that the horse appeared to be comfortable in its action after the race. A veterinary inspection of MASTER BERLINI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, it was noted that DUTCH WINDMILL had sustained a wound to the right hind leg.
A veterinary inspection of GLORIOUS LEGACY, JOYFUL PARK and LUCKY WIN WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SEE ME NOW and GREAT JOY were sent for sampling.
