Racing Incident Report

STRONG SUN began awkwardly, then shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of VIKING TOR, as a result became unbalanced and lost ground. RUM SHOT was slow to begin. ASALI began awkwardly. In the early and middle stages, EGYPTIAN RA, with the intention of being ridden quietly, proved difficult to settle. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, DANACOURT was crowded for room inside SYDNEY EXPRESS (A Delpech) which was ridden along to maintain a position to the inside of SHARKI which shifted in when not fully clear. Shortly after this, DANACOURT was checked when crowded for room inside SYDNEY EXPRESS which continued in after being cleared by SHARKI. When DANACOURT checked, FANTASY was steadied to avoid that horse's heels, shifted in and caused crowding on its inside to RUM SHOT which was also checked. As there were circumstances surrounding the incident, no action was taken, however, A Delpech was advised at all times to do his utmost to protect his fellow riders. Making the Home Turn, RUM SHOT was held up and unable to improve between FANTASY and AQUA-TREASURE. For a considerable distance after the 400 Metres, WHATABOB had difficulty obtaining clear running between BOBO WIN and SHARKI. For some distance after the 300 Metres, SANBENITO raced tight inside EGYPTIAN RA when endeavouring to shift to the outside of ASALI to obtain clear running. Over about the final 300 Metres, RUM SHOT was unable to obtain clear running and as a result was not properly tested. Near the 200 Metres, O Doleuze (WHATABOB) dropped his whip. M Rodd (STRONG SUN) reported his mount was reluctant to stride out on today's firm track conditions. DANACOURT and SHARKI were sent for sampling.
