2 9 DOUBLE HAPPINESS (CB198) D Dunn B Eased back to race behind midfield early. Improved to midfield rounding home turn. Held up in early straight. Quickened when asked 300 M out and closed off well in the final stages to be nearest at finish.
3 14 SHINING DRAGON (CC181) W M Lai -- Quickest out from wide draw and led from 1100 M out. Continued to lead by no more than a length until being challenged by the eventual winner 400 M out. Fought on well before relinquishing lead inside 200 M.
4 6 NEW FACE (CA387) A Marcus SR Jumped from wide draw and settled near rear. 2-wide rounding home turn and moved further out for clear run upon straightening. Made up good ground in the straight and just missed out on a minor placing.
5 2 KINDRED SPIRITS (BT204) C Williams B/TT Last one out and niggled along on fence near the rear. Crept closer to midfield rounding home turn. Made up some late ground in the final 200 M.
6 10 FIGHTING MASCOT (CB426) G Schofield B-/SR1 Niggled along to be around midfield in the early stages. Caught wide rounding home. Made a run when being put under pressure 400 M out but was unable to threaten winner.
7 8 AMBITIOUS LEADER (CC082) A Delpech -- Prominent early. Steadied when crowded near the 1000 M and continued its run on fence in midfield until being pressured upon straightening. Ran on without threatening.
