Trainer M Newnham stated that he had been satisfied with the horse leading into the race and could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing run. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 2 BEST FARM (K579) 13 C L Chau (-2) Approaching the 150 Metres improved into a narrow run between CONSPIRATOR and BUSTLING CITY and near the 50 Metres made contact with CONSPIRATOR when taken out by BUSTLING CITY.
9 3 BUSTLING CITY (L210) 8 Z Purton Z Purton reported that his mount, which was having its first race start, raced greenly during the race and finished off only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 4 COMET RADIANCE (L067) 2 Y L Chung (-2) Shifted out at the start and was bumped. Near the 400 Metres lay in and as a result blundered and became unbalanced.

10 6 GREEN FIELD PEARL (K460) 11 C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Over the final 500 Metres was held up for clear running and as a result was unable to be tested.

Between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up behind ALSONSO. After being shifted to the inside of ALSONSO then had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres when being shifted to the inside of COMET RADIANCE and LAHORE to improve. Sent for sampling post-race.

12 11 SPICY BONUS (L086) 9 M Chadwick Slow to begin. Over the final 50 Metres was held up behind LEADING DRAGON and as a result could not be ridden out to the finish.
4 12 LAHORE (K043) 1 A Badel Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race. Before being allowed to race again, LAHORE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
8 13 CONSPIRATOR (K090) 14 L Hewitson Over the final 400 Metres was held up and could not be ridden out to the finish. Over the concluding stages was bumped on the hindquarters by BEST FARM which shifted out after improving into a narrow run between CONSPIRATOR and BUSTLING CITY.

Near the 300 Metres shifted out and away from VIVA CHALEUR when that runner shifted out whilst giving ground. As a consequence COME FAST FAY FAY made contact with SUPER ELITE near the 250 Metres. Over the final 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run to the inside of REWARDING TWINKLE.
8 3 I P O BROS (K193) 8 H Bowman After travelling a short distance made contact with SHOTGUN due to both runners shifting ground. Approaching the 500 Metres was hampered when taken wider by REWARDING TWINKLE which shifted out to improve. H Bowman stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover and hung out throughout the event before finishing the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

5 6 GENERAL SMART (K138) 6 Z Purton Jumped only fairly. Briefly held up for clear running approaching the 400 Metres. For some distance approaching the 300 Metres raced tight between REWARDING TWINKLE and I P O BROS when improving into a narrow run between those two horses.
4 7 ONLY U (J037) 2 K Teetan Jumped only fairly. Leaving the 900 Metres lay in and became unbalanced when it made contact with the running rail. Sent for sampling post-race.

Approaching the 1100 Metres was bumped by WARRIORS DREAM and as a result shifted in and made contact with BROWNNEEDSFURTHER. Near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid DASHING PEACH (B Avdulla) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care.
9 3 RUN RUN SMART (K080) 11 E C W Wong (-5) Passing the 900 Metres made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced. Briefly crowded approaching the 50 Metres. Apprentice E C W Wong reported that his mount jumped only fairly and then was further hampered when crowded by VIVA FIRECRACKER. He said as a consequence RUN RUN SMART settled further back in the field than intended.
5 4 CALL ME SUCCESS (K462) 2 A Atzeni After the 1000 Metres raced tight to the inside of BROWNNEEDSFURTHER (J Orman) which shifted in. J Orman was advised to exercise more care. Noted to have blood in the mouth after the race.
7 5 CHATER FLASH (L082) 14 L Ferraris Shifted out on jumping. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running behind MERLION. Leaving the 100 Metres was then shifted to the outside of VIVA FIRECRACKER to continue into clear running. Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when positioned close to VIVA FIRECRACKER which shifted out when awkwardly placed close to CHILL PARTNERS.

11 7 DASHING PEACH (L066) 5 B Avdulla Approaching the 1100 Metres shifted in and away from WARRIORS DREAM and made contact with LUCKY XANDER. Raced wide and without cover from the 700 Metres. Near the 700 Metres was bumped by BROWNNEEDSFURTHER. Near the 350 Metres was hampered when taken wider by BROWNNEEDSFURTHER which shifted out.
12 8 MERLION (L176) 1 H Bowman Near the 100 Metres RUN RUN SMART improved to the outside of WARRIORS DREAM, resulting in MERLION being placed in restricted room. Near the 50 Metres MERLION was then checked when crowded between MABUBU which shifted in and away from VIVA FIRECRACKER which also shifted in and RUN RUN SMART (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted out and away from WARRIORS DREAM after being taken out slightly by that runner. After considering all the evidence Apprentice Wong was advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort to straighten his mounts to avoid causing interference to other runners.

6 10 WARRIORS DREAM (K255) 6 K Teetan Bumped on jumping. Near the 1000 Metres shifted out when being corrected by its rider and as a result made contact with CHILL PARTNERS. Near the 900 Metres was bumped by CHILL PARTNERS when that runner shifted in when racing keenly.

9 7 SMART FAT CAT (K280) 7 J McDonald Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when racing in restricted room between GLORIASTAR and AMAZING AWARD. J McDonald stated that his mount jumped well today and settled in a more slightly forward position than its previous race starts. He said in the Home Straight SMART FAT CAT finished the race off only fairly.
8 8 GLORIASTAR (K439) 4 L Ferraris Between the 400 Meres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running. L Ferraris stated that he was asked to ride the horse in a more conservative manner in the early stages with blinkers being removed as GLORIASTAR finished its recent races off only fairly when being asked to go forward. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

12 10 FRANTANCK (H429) 1 Y L Chung (-2) Blundered badly on jumping, became unbalanced and lost ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
13 11 SPLENDID FORCE (K120) 2 H Bentley On jumping was crowded by FORTUNE KINGO which shifted in.
4 12 ACE (K307) 10 M Guyon Between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running. M Guyon reported that he was instructed to settle where comfortable. He said after his mount jumped well and under its light weight of 119 lbs he was able to hold an on-pace position.
3 13 DASHING MAURISON (K374) 14 M L Yeung From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight.
11 14 YOUNG HORIZON (G272) 6 K Teetan Jumped awkwardly. In the early stages raced ungenerously and got its head up. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have blood in its mouth and also to be a "roarer”.

1 2 LITTLE PARADISE (K246) 6 C Y Ho Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
6 3 INVINCIBLE IBIS (K296) 11 H Bowman After travelling a short distance was eased when racing tight to the inside of BEAUTY BOLT which shifted in slightly. On a number of occasions near the 400 Metres was bumped by PATCH OF COSMO and as a result became unbalanced. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of H Bowman, 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 4 BEAUTY BOLT (K491) 12 J McDonald Bumped shortly after the start. J McDonald pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 150 Metres (see PUBLIC ATTENTION).
11 5 CRIMSON FLASH (K173) 7 A Atzeni Bumped on jumping.
2 6 INFINITE RESOLVE (K369) 3 A Badel Briefly held up for clear running near the 300 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
9 7 PATCH OF COSMO (J357) 9 M Chadwick Jumped only fairly. Between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running when unable to improve into a tight run between WINDLORD and INVINCIBLE IBIS. In this incident PATCH OF COSMO made contact with INVINCIBLE IBIS on a number of occasions. Near the 200 Metres was steadied when crowded between INVINCIBLE IBIS and CRIMSON FLASH which was taken out by LITTLE PARADISE (C Y Ho) which shifted out. C Y Ho was reprimanded.
10 8 PUBLIC ATTENTION (L035) 1 B Avdulla J McDonald (BEAUTY BOLT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 150 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of TOP DRAGON, resulting in TOP DRAGON being crowded onto PUBLIC ATTENTION, resulting in PUBLIC ATTENTION losing its rightful running and being checked. J McDonald was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 8 February 2026 at Sha Tin. In addition, Jockey McDonald was fined $60,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 9 WINFIELD (K446) 8 L Hewitson Shifted in on jumping and bumped CRIMSON FLASH. L Hewitson stated that his mount hung in throughout the event and near the 200 Metres struck the running rail and became unbalanced. He said as a result he did not test the horse thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 10 AKASHVANI (K234) 4 L Ferraris Jumped only fairly. Passing the 50 Metres L Ferraris dropped his left rein for a number of strides.
5 11 TOP DRAGON (J481) 2 M Guyon Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Crowded near the 150 Metres. Prior to declaring weighed-in Jockey M Guyon and Trainer W Y So viewed the patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection against BEAUTY BOLT due to interference near the 150 Metres. When they declined to lodge a protest/objection and the Stewards were satisfied that there were not sufficient grounds to do so having regard to the margin of three quarters of a length between the two horses at the finish of the race weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.

13 1 LUNAR DASH (K334) 10 K Teetan Bumped shortly after the start. K Teetan stated that his mount came under pressure in the early stages of the Home Straight before giving ground noticeably over the concluding stages. Trainer B Crawford stated that the horse had pleased him leading into the race but as LUNAR DASH was racing first up from a two-month break he was of the opinion it would derive a fitness benefit from today’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LUNAR DASH was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, LUNAR DASH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
11 2 STAR SATYR (K231) 8 Z Purton On jumping was hampered when bumped by HAPPY BOSS. He said as a consequence he elected to shift back to the inside where it obtained clear running passing the 300 Metres. Trainer W K Mo confirmed the instructions were to find cover.
