Approaching the 500 Metres was hampered when taken wider by REWARDING TWINKLE which shifted out to improve. H Bowman stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover and hung out throughout the event before finishing the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. Near the 50 Metres MERLION was then checked when crowded between MABUBU which shifted in and away from VIVA FIRECRACKER which also shifted in and RUN RUN SMART (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted out and away from WARRIORS DREAM after being taken out slightly by that runner. After considering all the evidence Apprentice Wong was advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort to straighten his mounts to avoid causing interference to other runners.

6 3 INVINCIBLE IBIS (K296) 11 H Bowman After travelling a short distance was eased when racing tight to the inside of BEAUTY BOLT which shifted in slightly. On a number of occasions near the 400 Metres was bumped by PATCH OF COSMO and as a result became unbalanced. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of H Bowman, 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race. 3 4 BEAUTY BOLT (K491) 12 J McDonald Bumped shortly after the start. J McDonald pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 150 Metres (see PUBLIC ATTENTION).

9 7 PATCH OF COSMO (J357) 9 M Chadwick Jumped only fairly. Between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running when unable to improve into a tight run between WINDLORD and INVINCIBLE IBIS. In this incident PATCH OF COSMO made contact with INVINCIBLE IBIS on a number of occasions. Near the 200 Metres was steadied when crowded between INVINCIBLE IBIS and CRIMSON FLASH which was taken out by LITTLE PARADISE (C Y Ho) which shifted out. C Y Ho was reprimanded.
10 8 PUBLIC ATTENTION (L035) 1 B Avdulla J McDonald (BEAUTY BOLT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 150 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of TOP DRAGON, resulting in TOP DRAGON being crowded onto PUBLIC ATTENTION, resulting in PUBLIC ATTENTION losing its rightful running and being checked. J McDonald was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 8 February 2026 at Sha Tin. In addition, Jockey McDonald was fined $60,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 9 WINFIELD (K446) 8 L Hewitson Shifted in on jumping and bumped CRIMSON FLASH. L Hewitson stated that his mount hung in throughout the event and near the 200 Metres struck the running rail and became unbalanced. He said as a result he did not test the horse thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 10 AKASHVANI (K234) 4 L Ferraris Jumped only fairly. Passing the 50 Metres L Ferraris dropped his left rein for a number of strides.
5 11 TOP DRAGON (J481) 2 M Guyon Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Crowded near the 150 Metres. Prior to declaring weighed-in Jockey M Guyon and Trainer W Y So viewed the patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection against BEAUTY BOLT due to interference near the 150 Metres. When they declined to lodge a protest/objection and the Stewards were satisfied that there were not sufficient grounds to do so having regard to the margin of three quarters of a length between the two horses at the finish of the race weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.

K Teetan stated that his mount came under pressure in the early stages of the Home Straight before giving ground noticeably over the concluding stages. Trainer B Crawford stated that the horse had pleased him leading into the race but as LUNAR DASH was racing first up from a two-month break he was of the opinion it would derive a fitness benefit from today’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LUNAR DASH was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, LUNAR DASH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
11 2 STAR SATYR (K231) 8 Z Purton On jumping was hampered when bumped by HAPPY BOSS. Z Purton stated that his mount did not fully stretch out during the running of the race and he had some concern with its action when he placed it under pressure in the Home Straight. He said as a consequence he elected to shift back to the inside where it obtained clear running passing the 300 Metres. Trainer W K Mo confirmed the instructions were to find cover.
