3 8 TURF GOLD (CD342) B Prebble -- Jumped awkwardly and soon settled in worse than midfield 3 wide to straight. Under pressure 300 M out and made up steady ground whilst hanging in inside final 200 M to miss 2nd placegetter by a narrow margin.
4 2 GOLDEN FARM (CA069) O Doleuze B Jumped well and hard ridden along to take lead on rail from 800 M with around 1/2L to 1L advantage to straight. Headed shortly after the 200 M and only kept on same pace thereafter.
5 1 GRASS HOPPER (CD050) D Dunn -- Tardy start and unable to muster early speed to race in worse than midfield around 2 wide to straight. Made up little ground inside final 200 M without threatening the placegetters.
6 7 EASY KING (CA062) C K Tong B Best out from widest and hard ridden along to lead in the early stages. Eased back to race 1/2L to 1L off leader 2 wide after the 800 M. Unable to quicken when asked 250 M out and only able to keep on evenly to the line.

8 6 GOLDEN PROMISE (CA134) Y T Cheng -- Jumped fairly and niggled along to race in midfield or better on rail through to straight. Kept on same pace when asked 250 M out and steadily weakened inside final 150 M. (Graze to right hind.)
9 3 CHAMP DE UNION (CB001) F Coetzee B-/SR2 Began awkwardly and raced towards the rear out wide in the early stages. Around the 700 M commenced to make headway from the outside to be in midfield on straightening. No extra in straight and stayed on same pace to the line.
