2 10 ABERDEEN (CE182) Y T Cheng H Average to begin, lacked early toe, drifted back to 2nd last 12Ls away from pace, began 3-wide run from 600 M (with cover),4Ls away on turn, switched wide in straight and made up huge amount of ground to just miss. Solid effort.
3 3 CAPE PRINCE (CG066) D Whyte -- Bounced out well, taken straight to rails, crowded a little when taking position behind leader, enjoyed good trip thereafter (even speed) 3 back on fence, made run between runners in stretch showing good dash to just miss 2nd.
4 1 FIGHTING MASCOT (CB426) W C Marwing -- Average to jump, settled down in midfield spot 2-wide 5Ls away, not really asked in middle stages and travelled well to turn, still in traffic on turning in, close off nicely to make frame. Did best work late.
5 2 LASER POWER (CE129) B Prebble V Slow to begin, soon mustered speed to cross and slot in 4 back on fence 4Ls away, spend nothing in mid-section, followed paint in straight and made up substantial ground to be closest at finish.
6 6 VISIONNAIRE (CE302) C Munce -- Standard to jump, lacked early speed and settled well back in rear division 10Ls from front, made up ground to come with 3-wide run (no cover) from 600 M, 4-wide turning and kept giving to line despite workload. Inconvenienced late.
7 5 MR COOL (CD071) C K Tong B/TT Began well, ridden along to cross to rails from wide alley, eventually handed up lead after early burn at 500 M mark, travelled fairly thereafter, 1L away on turn, gained split in straight, in mix to 100 M but found no extra late.
8 11 SERIOUS PLAY (CC003) H W Lai P- Average to jump, lacked early dash and settled down at rear 12Ls from pace, chased along to make ground in mid-section, on rails 5Ls away on turn, stuck to rails and made up a little ground late.
9 9 SUNRISE RAINBOW (CD209) R Fradd -- Broke with field, taken hold of to settle just off midfield 6Ls away, 2-wide for mid-section, using little petrol, still well back on turning, got going late to pass a few tired runners. Got too far out of it.
10 4 ARMONDO (CB387) K T Yeung B/TT Away well, amongst first four early, received check on first turn, raced outside leader thereafter (even tempo), moved up to tackle on turn, hit lead briefly but early workload took toll and weakened late.
11 12 SHINING DAY (CE163) K L Chui TT Failed to muster speed early, drifted back to near rear 11Ls from pace, always niggled to hold spot and never really comfortable, still well back and swung wide into straight. Made no impression in run to line.
12 8 LUCKY DRAGON (CD322) G Mosse TT Began with rest, hard ridden to take closer order, went right on with it to work hard to cross to lead at 800 M, backed speed off to Rock, pressured on turn, compounded badly from 200 M to be well back. Worked too hard.
