3 8 VALUE CHOICE (CG213) G Mosse B2 Was slow to begin and raced in 2nd last position. Came 3-wide after the 400 M and ran on nicely.
4 4 NAMJONG SKY (CH129) B Prebble B Raced on the back of the speed, 1 out 1 back, loomed as a challenger but ended its run short of the line.
5 12 STRAIGHT VICTORY (CE328) S K Sit CP/TT Settled in last position and made some late ground.
6 7 SPLENDID SAILS (CG077) O Doleuze SR As the start was effected momentarily became caught on a platform inside the barrier. Began awkwardly and lost considerable ground. Settled behind midfield the fence. Made some ground on the inside in straight.
7 3 SUPER SPECIAL (CE225) A Delpech H/TT Camped behind the speed on the fence, had every chance despite being checked near the 250 M. Pulled up lame. (See Racing Incidents.)
8 11 MUTUAL GAIN (CE275) M Nunes B Raced handy to the leaders, but was caught 3-wide no cover, struggled over the last quarter.
9 6 ARISTOCRACY (CG070) Z Purton CP1 Was checked near the 1000 M and thereafter raced 3 deep with cover in midfield. Struggled over the concluding stages.
10 10 PERFECT ATHLETE (CG276) Y T Cheng -- Handed up the lead after the 700 and raced in 2nd position. Never went on at the business end and folded tamely over the latter stages. (See Racing Incidents.)
11 1 SUPER RED (CG230) C K Tong XB1/TT Worked hard early to obtain the lead after the 700 M. Gave in meekly passing the 150 M.
12 9 KING'S CHOICE (CG040) H W Lai -- Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed and then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover, midfield. Spent force turning for home.
