3 10 FLYING KENNY (CC244) M W Leung V Parked just off midfield, 2 deep with cover. Had to shift out after entering the straight to get into the clear, but after having done so worked home well.
4 13 KING CREOLE (CG287) H W Lai -- Travelled midfield 3-wide with cover, dashed to the front approaching the 200 M, but peaked on its run over the latter stages.
5 2 LIFELINE PEGASUS (CH067) Z Purton TT Raced at the rear of the field, was checked near the 800 M, and then raced 4 deep with cover. Made forward move inside the 600 and ran home well down the outside.
6 6 ICHIBAN (CJ050) F Coetzee B1 Began awkwardly, then proved difficult to settle in the early stages. Settled 1 out 1 back, had every chance.
7 1 BITE MY DUST (CH170) C K Tong -- Pushed to go forward early, after the 900 M continued to be ridden to avoid being caught racing wide and without cover. Near 800 M shifted across to be 3 wide outside leader no cover thereafter, faded in straight.
8 3 AMAZING VENTURE (CJ039) K Shea -- When the gates opened was leaning against the outside of its stall, was slow to begin and lost a considerable amount of ground. Settled in last position, came to the outside in the straight and finished off well.
9 5 HAPPEE GIFT (CH313) B Prebble -- Took up leading duties early in the event along the rail. Hung out on the circles and faded inside the 200 M.
10 7 JUGGERNAUT (CJ019) G Mosse -- Raced behind midfield and was caught 4-5 deep with cover. Battled away in the run home.
11 14 GENERAL SPEEDEE (CG193) W M Lai TT Throughout the race travelled wide and without cover behind the speed and near the 800 M was steadied. Never likely.
12 12 HELLO GIBRALTAR (CH207) K L Chui B-/V1 Slowly away and settled at the rear. Was a beaten horse turning for home.
13 8 SURE GAIN (CJ038) Y T Cheng -- Raced midfield, 2-wide with cover, struggled under pressure.
14 11 MAGIC KING (CH182) D Whyte XB/B1 Landed in a forward position and near the 700 M after racing wide and without cover, was ridden along to go forward and shift across to race outside the lead. Copped a check near the 200 M, but was a spent force.
