3 5 MAGI JOY (CH056) E Saint-Martin V Had the run of the race behind the leader, given every chance. Failed to find any extra.
4 2 RICH DRAGON (CG079) C Soumillon V From a wide gate was taken back to a position at the rear of the field. Closed off well.
5 10 LUCKY TYCOON (CH318) O Doleuze -- A little slow to begin, then shortly afterwards lost further ground when checked as a result of being crowded. Settled midfield on the fence. Railed up in the run home but only plodded to the line.
6 8 SHINING DRAGON (CC181) K T Yeung SR On jumping shifted out abruptly and when being straightened lost ground. Raced 3 deep, midfield with cover. Didn't quicken appreciably in the straight.
7 9 GANBARIA (CE052) Y T Cheng B/TT Began awkwardly then was ridden along to race outside the leader. Compounded inside the furlong.
8 11 HEADINGLEY (CH264) A Delpech TT From the outside barrier was allowed to drift back to a position to obtain cover near the rear of the field. Making the turn after the 600 M hung out came widest in the straight. Failed to run on.
9 1 KINGSTON WINNER (CC024) W M Lai B Began on terms but throughout the race travelled 3-wide and without cover outside the leaders. Ran out of fuel over the concluding stages.
10 3 SOLDIER ON (CD230) K L Chui CP Positioned near the rear of the pack 1 off with cover. Battled away when under pressure in the run home.
11 7 INSIDER (CG112) D Whyte B Travelled keenly on the back of the speed, 3-wide with cover. Jockey's saddle shifted forward on top of the horse's wither near 1000 M, and as such he was disadvantage in riding. Dropped out in the straight.
12 4 WILD ACE (CH009) M W Leung TT Raced handy to the leaders, 2-wide with cover. Struggled over the final 300 M.
