3 5 ICHIBAN (CJ050) D Whyte -- Fast out, took a prominent spot on leaders back, had a fair run to bend, switched to challenge at 400 M, looked a chance to 200 M but just peaked on run last 100 M.
4 3 FEVER PITCH (CH326) F Coetzee H Moderate jump, allowed to settle back with last few, not helped with steady pace on, well back on rails at 400 M, into clear at 300 M and closed late making good ground to take 4th.
5 7 STILTON (CG173) O Doleuze CP Began in line, assumed a midfield role 3Ls back, aided by a soft run, improved into clear on turning, made solid progress final 300 M before condition gave out late.
6 13 SOHNA (CG183) M Du Plessis B Restrained from an awkward draw, ended up at tail 8Ls back, pace against in mid-section, had job to do on bend, switched out turning, made remarkable ground down centre to be nearest on line.
7 6 CHINA WIN (CJ147) E Saint-Martin B Slow into stride, ended up back on fence, 4-5Ls away, not helped by tempo, saved ground on bend, made gradual progress along inside to be nearest on line.
8 10 MUTUAL FRIENDSHIP (CG260) S K Sit -- Out only fairly, ended up behind midfield 5Ls or so away, raced keenly in mid-section, still in between horses on turning, made some headway last 300 M but didn't really threaten.
9 1 JADE DRAGONFLY (CE331) K C Leung BO/TT Jumped with first few, unable to slot in and restrained to midfield but wide without cover, did share of work to bend, flattened at 200 M.
10 2 HIGH INTELLIGENT (CD317) C K Tong B/TT Began with them, elected for a trail 1 out 1 back in run, had reasonable trip with steady speed, lost position approaching 500 M, moderate effort in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)
