3 14 DILIGENT II (CJ211) H W Lai XB Moderate jump, drifted back to tail, raced 8Ls back at rear, had a ground saving trip on circle, made many lengths along rails for a remarkable 3rd.
4 7 WIN AGAIN (CD371) G Mosse B/SR Showed speed from outset, soon racing outside leader, did share of work with even speed, levelled up turning, went to front briefly, kept on creditably once headed to make frame.
5 6 PRESTO (CJ048) D Whyte -- Began slower than usual, positioned 3 wide at rear, had cover 7 to 8Ls back, still well back turning, came wide and made many lengths from an impossible spot to be nearest on line.
6 11 MAGIC SWEEP (CH299) F Coetzee B Even getaway, took a nice trail behind speed 3Ls back on fence, enjoyed a quiet trip to bend, made fair progress to 200 M but didn't have extra gear to factor late.
7 13 SUPER BABY (CH227) K L Chui B-/TT Away fairly, took a midfield position on rails 4 to 5Ls away, had an easy time throughout, angled wide turning, only managed one speed in straight and just held ground late.
8 3 FANTASTIC CHOICE (CJ216) O Doleuze -- Reasonable jump, took up a midfield role, raced 4Ls back in running line, suited by tempo in mid-section, had something to offer turning but flattened at 200 M and just held ground late.
9 8 CONFUCIUS CLASSIC (CJ141) E Saint-Martin XB Fast out, went on to take up running, ran freely in front setting even tempo, still held an advantage on turning, soon under pressure at 350 M and didn't respond, folded final 200 M.
10 4 AMPLE GAINS (CE021) C W Wong B/TT Tardy into stride, raced behind midfield 7Ls or so back on fence, enjoyed a quiet run to bend, one paced in run to line and didn't threaten.
11 2 WISE LOVER (CE095) K C Leung B Restrained from a wide alley, ended up 9 to 10Ls away, helpe by tempo, improved wide on bend, 5 wide at 500 M but still at rear, lacked usual finish and made only minor progress late.
12 5 MASCOT FORTUNE (CH221) M Du Plessis XB- Promising jump, assumed position behind leader 2Ls back, followed a useful pace throughout, same margin down turning, soon under pressure and didn't respond.
13 12 GOUF (CJ227) Y T Cheng -- Out with rest, ended up behind midfield 6Ls away in 2 wide line, helped by tempo, carried wider turning, no sprint to speak of and struggled late.
14 10 DON FELIPE (CD273) M W Leung -- Ordinary getaway, raced 3 wide 7Ls back, did it tough without cover, showed nothing in straight and was well beaten.
