4 12 LOHAN (CH279) K L Chui B Slowest away, in rear duo at least 7Ls from the pace and same on straightening, made some decent late ground for 4th, post came too soon, wants further.
5 9 EVERGREEN (CE106) C W Wong B/TT Slow to muster early pace, 2-wide and worse than midfield about 5Ls back through to the straight, made some good late ground, never nearer.
6 4 CLOVIS (CH044) D Beadman XB/H 3-back along rails at 1000 M and within 4Ls of the lead off final curve, making headway but briefly held up 150 M out, couldn't recover.
7 3 FORTUNE WARRIOR (CD096) B Doyle B Went back, one-from rear about 7Ls off pace at halfway and niggled along to improve at the 500 M, made up some late ground but no real danger.
8 10 BULB TREASURE (CH048) C K Tong -- 2-wide and 1L back in 2nd at 1000 M and advanced to lead at top of home straight, headed again at the furlong pole and fizzled out soon after.
9 7 SOARING DRAGON (CH183) E Saint-Martin B Awkward break, 3-wide with cover about 4Ls back in midfield and slightly worse off turning in, didn't find much off the bridle.
10 2 DR WELL (CD165) Y T Cheng -- Led by 1L on fence at 1200 M and held a slender margin before being headed at the top of the homestretch, faded quickly. (Questioned for poor performance.)
11 1 OLYMPICSHIP (CJ283) H W Lai -- No excuses having box-seated from 1200 M to the home straight, dropped away rather tamely.
12 5 BEST NOODLE (CJ278) G Mosse TT 3-wide no cover throughout, prominent from early stages about 1L from the speed but fading at point of home straight entrance, eased down late on.
