5 9 SHANGHAI PIONEER (CL252) B Doyle SR Travelled strongly in a midfield position, 2 deep with cover. Ranged up widest at the 200m, but peaked on its run 100m out.
6 12 NOVEL START (CM255) M L Yeung -- Posted 3 wide without cover whilst travelling outside the leading duo. Maintained a sound gallop right to the wire.
7 1 GOOD GAINS (CJ293) K C Ng -- Travelled in last position 2 wide with cover, settled along the fence on the circle. Tacked onto the field approaching the home turn and made late ground without threatening.
8 3 MAN OF THE MATCH (CM153) K C Leung -- Settled toward the rear along the fence with cover. Battled away one paced in the final stretch.
9 7 SOLAR BOY (CL213) H W Lai B Blundered at the start, lost ground and settled 3-4 wide behind midfield. Never a factor.
10 11 GLOBAL WIN (CG109) C W Wong B/TT Bustled to the lead ad crossed to the fence leaving the 700m. Straightened a length in advance but faded over the last 150m.
11 4 SPECTACULAR AWARD (CK364) O Doleuze B Travelled at the rear of the field 3 deep with cover. Failed to close off.
