3 8 PRINCIPAL (P108) J Moreira -- Even break, settled in midfield 1 out 4ls back, same margin back to turn, came through field nicely final 300m to take 3rd.
4 3 BERLINSKI (P014) D Whyte -- Fair beginning, took a spot 3-4ls back on rails in midfield, easy run to turn, in traffic at 300m and took narrow gaps along rails to come through and challenge, just missed a place.
5 9 BIG FOUR (P102) T Angland H/TT- Settled behind midfield 5-6ls back in running line, well back to bend, switched out and closed soundly making good ground to be nearest on line.
6 1 WINNIE'S HORSE (P169) C Y Lui TT Out in line, unable to take up prominent role as usual, raced 3 wide with cover in midfield 4ls back, switched wider too challenge turning in, made steady progress to be not far from place getters.
7 11 POLYMER WIN (CM399) N Callan -- Landed in an ideal spot 1out 1 back just behind pace, ok run to bend, looked a place chance at 400m but didn't go on final 200m and dropped off.
8 7 MAC ROW (N252) C O'Donoghue H/XB Wide from outset from a tricky draw, raced just off midfield 5ls or so back, 4 wide on circle, came to middle turning but didn't close off with much purpose battling to line.
9 12 SUPREME FLIGHT (CM199) U Rispoli TT Took a prominent spot on leaders back, ideal run to turn, ridden along at 400m in a little traffic but didn't close off as normal and unable to factor at all final 300m.
10 10 JOLLY GOOD STAR (S003) M Chadwick TT Began with line, caught 4 wide from a tricky gate, did plenty of work without cover, workload began to take tool soon after straightening, dropped out in straight.
11 2 SUMARAND DRAGON (P441) G Mosse B/H Dropped back to rear, best part of 6ls or so back, at rear throughout, made no real headway in straight and just battled away.
12 14 BORN TO WIN (N386) C K Tong H/TT Showed early pace to race, raced outside leader, up challenging throughout, soon came under pressure turning, folded tamely.
13 13 SPOKE TO CARLO (P090) T H So B/TT Ended up 3 wide at rear after a slow jump, had cover 5ls or more back, under pressure rounding bend, showed nothing in straight.
14 6 NINTH GALAXY (N380) M L Yeung -- Had enough early speed to hold the lead, fair run in front but did have pressure from outside horse, headed turning, tiring when bumped at 300m, dropped right away.
