3 6 REAL GENEROUS (CM193) W M Lai B2/H2/TT2 Began OK, ridden along but failed to muster dropping 4-back along rail on settling. Under pressure from 400m, cut to rail entering straight, ran on steadily.
4 4 ROYAL PARTNER (N394) Z Purton TT Began well, settling 2-back, the rail. Improved position passing 700m, got clear run turning for home, ran on steadily to just miss a place.
5 8 SMART BALL (P277) K C Ng TT Began best, led to 1500m when passed, taken out and rolled forward to retake lead 1000m, Kept up good pace, collared 200m but kept on well till swamped final stages.
6 2 TRUMP (P106) D Whyte TT Restrained, taken across behind horses but kept 3-wide back stretch with cover. Widest into straight, ran on steadily without threatening. Lame right from leg with quarter crack.
7 7 GREAT SKY (N426) K Teetan B/TT Began well, pressed forward, settling one-back, one-off before awkward on heels 1150m, dropping to 4th. Hard ridden 450m, kept on steadily in straight.
8 9 FLYING CHAPARRAL (CM245) Y T Cheng SR Began OK, ridden along to maintain forward position but held wide and without cover, from 1000m. Turned wide, kept on fairly in straight.
9 3 BEST TANGO (S121) N Callan H Began OK, ridden along between horses in midfield, slipping back slightly before final turn. Found little in straight under hard riding.
10 11 DASHING SUPER (N348) C K Tong V/TT Began well, pressed forward to lead 1500m, tried to slow pace but was immediately passed and tightened, becoming unbalanced. Remained 2nd to straight before giving ground gradually.
11 10 BE THERE AHEAD (S193) T H So -- Began fairly, not much pace and shuffled back before home turn. Became detached from field after entering straight.
12 5 BANKSTERS BONUS (N113) B Prebble CP-/SR2 Began fairly, taken across behind horses, settling last in one-off position. Started to drop off passing 500m and finished tailed off.
