3 1 COURAGE STAR (BT054) K K Lai TT Began awkwardly and lost a lot of ground, recovered to be 6Ls off lead towards rear 2-wide 1200 M out. Steady headway from 300 M before finding no more concluding stages.
4 12 ZINEDINE (BT242) Y T Cheng B Midfield on fence early then steadily dropped towards rear 1100 M out. Crept closer rounding home bend, brushed rail near 500 M, stayed on fairly having to steady and shift out after the 200 M.
5 9 FRAT RAT (CA038) G Mosse -- Wide behind front runners early, then eased to midfield 3-wide 1200 M out. Under pressure 450 M out, minimal headway close home.
6 14 THE GRAND ROOF (CB083) H K Yim -- Pressed on along fence to make running, never more than 1L clear. Headed near 300 M. Kept on and looked like hanging on for a minor placing until swamped closing stages.
7 7 MANY HAPPY RETURNS (BP126) S K Sit -- Ridden but outpaced at rear. On rail 6Ls down entering straight, shifted out towards centre of track and made up some ground until no extra concluding stages.
8 11 HAPPY CHAMP (BS226) W M Lai B Handy 4th on rail, became 3rd 600 M out, kept on same pace under pressure in home straight, no extra close home.
9 4 VICTORY MASTER (CA223) D Dunn B/TT Quickest away, brief lead out wide before shifting across to track leader 2-wide 1000 M out. Hit front momentarily near 300 M but quickly passed by winner, run ended from 200 M and dropped away.
10 5 MY FAVOURITE (CA125) S Dye -- Held up at tail from widest draw, never less than 4-wide. Switched widest on straightening, made up some ground from 300 M, one paced final bit. (Bled and lame.)
11 3 DANDY BUNNY (BV328) M Cahill -- Driven but failed to muster early pace, 3-wide 5Ls off pace towards rear, not come on in home stretch.
12 13 HIN YUEN'S UNICORN (BS319) K H Ting -- Pushed forward to secure position behind leaders. Commenced to struggle after straightening, soon dropped away steadily.
13 6 KONRAD THE GREAT (CB059) W C Marwing B Settled 2-wide 2 1/2Ls off pace better than midfield. 3-wide into straight, unable to keep up, dropped out quickly from 250 M.
14 2 JOINT PEACE (BV186) E Legrix -- Jumped awkwardly, a bit keen travelling 4-wide without cover towards rear. Made no impression in home straight.
