2 2 TREASURE FIELD (CA236) K T Yeung TT Jumped fairly and raced in better than midfield on rail through to straight. Have difficulty obtaining clear running between 300 M to 200 M. Found the line well thereafter and missed the winner narrowly.
3 13 LUCKY BIRD (CB342) W M Lai -- Pushed along in the early stages to race in midfield on inner. Switched out and ridden along to go forward at home bend. All out 350 M out and made up steady ground to snatch 3rd place on the line.
4 9 MULTIPERFECTION (CB161) F Coetzee -- Niggled along to race in prominent position 2 wide through to straight. Kept on fairly when asked 300 M out but failed to find any extra to fend off challenge from 3rd placegetter to be overhauled on the line.
5 8 MR PRESIDENT (CA178) D Beasley SR Raced in worse than midfield on rail. At 1100 M went forward to race in midfield through to straight. Responded fairly when asked 300 M out but just missed out on the placing by a narrow margin.
6 5 TELECOM BABE (CA187) D Whyte B Raced keenly to lead on rail through to straight. Kept on fairly in straight, headed 100 M out and steadily weakened thereafter.
7 1 NORTHERN FLYER (BS032) P H Lo B On jumping reared and lost a lot of ground. Raced in rear section on rail. At 1000 M made slight improvement to be in midfield turning for home. Made up steady ground in straight to be closest at finish.
8 10 BROWN BEAUTY (CC029) Y T Cheng SR-/B1 Pushed along in early stages to race in midfield 2 wide. Ridden along to maintain position at home bend. Under pressure 400 M out but only able to keep on evenly to the line.
9 11 SILVER JET (CB102) M Cahill B Broke well and soon raced in prominent position on rail. Switched out on straightening to final clear running. Stayed one-pace when asked 350 M out and further weakened inside final 200 M. (Displayed mild heat stress.)
10 12 LOK WAH SUCCESS (CB408) H K Yim TT Raced in a forward position in the early stages. From 1300 M steadily dropped to mid-division 3 wide under pressure at home bend to hold position. Unable to quicken in straight and kept on evenly to the line.
11 6 EUPHORIC KID (CB165) D Dunn -- Began well from wide draw and eased towards the rear 4 wide. Under pressure at home bend but failed to respond. Made no impression in straight.
12 14 BUCK'S FIZZ (BV272) C Williams B/TT Soon eased to race in rear section towards the outside through to straight. Failed to respond to pressure in straight and only ran past couple of beaten runners.
13 4 KOWLOON STAR (CC233) M Walker B1 Began very awkwardly and raced in rear section around 2 wide. Under pressure at home bend but failed to improve. Made no impression in straight. (Lost left hind plate.)
14 3 EXCEL TRADER (CB096) K C Tsang -- Jumped awkwardly and raced in worse than midfield around 3 wide. Gave ground steadily turning for home and tailed out in straight. (Sustained a cut to left hind pastern.)
