2 3 WINNING DRAGON (CB018) R Fradd -- Began well from widest and niggled along to race in forward position. Took outright lead on rail passing 1200 M through to straight. Ran on fairly when asked 300 M out but was unable to match speed with winner inside 200 M.
3 10 SUNBELL (CB391) D Boeuf -- Broke fairly and settled in midfield or worse on rail. Switched out and ridden along to go forward at home bend. Made up good ground inside final 250 M but was unable to run down the 1st pair to settle for 3rd.
4 7 SONGS OF PRAISE (CB005) K McEvoy B Began well and raced in better than midfield on rail in the early stages. Around the 1000 M got shuffled back to midfield. Under pressure 300 M out and made up little ground inside final 200 M without troubling the placegetters.
5 9 CHINOOK (CC108) F Coetzee SR Jumped awkwardly from wide draw and soon recovered to race in a prominent position 2-wide through to straight. Kept on same pace when asked 300 M out and weakened slightly over the concluding stages.

7 5 SERIOUS PLAY (CC003) Y T Cheng -- Began fairly and was soon taken to the tail on rail through to straight. Under pressure 300 M out and made up some ground inside final 200 M to be closest at finish.
8 1 MY CHIEF (BV044) C K Tong -- Tardy start and raced towards the rear on rail. Around the 800 M got its head up and shifted away from heels. Switched out and made little headway at home bend. Only kept on one pace to the line when asked 250 M.
9 6 BOBO DUCK (CA063) G Mosse V/TT Broke well and niggled along to race in a prominent position on rail. Ridden along to maintain position turning for home. Unable to quicken in straight and steadily weakened inside final 200 M.
10 12 THUNDER MAN (CB239) S Dye -- Began fairly and was soon taken back to the tail 2-wide through to straight. Made no impression in straight.
11 2 LUCKSWELL (CA171) K T Yeung B Began awkwardly and raced towards the rear section 2 to 3-wide. Switched wide and made little progress at home bend. Unable to sustain effort in straight and steadily faded inside final 200 M.
