2 11 NOBLE MAN (CC099) A Delpech -- Raced 3-wide and within 3Ls of the pace in the early stages. Steadily improved after 800 M and closed to within 1/2L of leader on straightening. Continued well when pressured but couldn't gain further ground on winner closing stages.
3 12 PROGRESSING TIMES (CC231) A Marcus -- Behind midfield early and was asked to improve to midfield 1000 M out. Continued to advance rounding home turn and made steady progress in the straight to be closest at finish.
4 3 STRONGHEART (BT113) C Soumillon TT Bounced well and was eased back to race at midfield. Improved rounding home turn from a 4-wide position and closed to within a length of the leader at 400 M. Kept on well in the closing stages to make the frame.
5 14 OPERA MAGIC (CB404) W M Lai B Midfield early. 2Ls behind the lead at 400 M and ran on well in the closing stages to be closest at finish.
6 10 AGILITY (CC361) W Woods -- Settled in a prominent position until home straight. Ran on well in the straight but was steadied from heels at 200 M, had trouble finding a clear run in the final 100 M and was unable to ride out to the finish.
7 8 MR COOL (CD071) D Whyte -- Niggled along to race on fence at midfield. Made up some late ground in the closing stages.
8 7 SANBENITO (CC256) F Coetzee SR Slowly away and raced in rearward position until straightening. One-paced in the straight.
9 13 GOLD MASTER (CC365) H K Yim SR Jumped awkwardly and raced in a rearward position. Trailed field going into home straight. Responded only fairly when pressured in the straight.
10 1 GOOD TRIO (CD029) G Mosse B1 Niggled to a forward position and raced just behind the pace at 1200 M. Improved to race alongside the lead 600 M. Remained with leaders until fading out final 200 M.
11 4 MIRACLES (CC073) M Kinane -- Began fairly and was taken back to race near the rear until home straight. Closed the race off only fairly.
12 6 LUCKY GALLOPER (CD030) W H Lao -- 4-wide at midfield. Drifted back when racing wide rounding home turn. Couldn't find extra in the straight.
13 5 MY FORTUNE (CB048) G Schofield SR Began awkwardly and was pressed forward to midfield before steadying to avoid heels at 1000 M. Behind midfield going into home straight and unable to find extra thereafter. (Lame.)
14 2 TOY QUEST (CC036) T Mundry V Slowly away and raced wide at midfield in the early stages. Drifted back to behind midfield at 1000 M. Weakened shortly after straightening and tailed off. (Significant blood in trachea.)
