2 8 TSUNAMI (CD105) S Dye -- Jumped well but soon eased back to race near the rear. Remained in rear section on straightening with a 6Ls deficit at 400 M. Staged an impressive rally final 300 M despite hanging in and was closest at the line.
3 7 TABBRIS (CB088) G Mosse -- Urged to the lead from wide draw and crossed to the rails heading into the turn. Held a length's advantage going into home straight and kept lead into final 200 M. Stayed on well but failed to hold off the top pair final stages.
4 2 MULTI MILLIONS (CD207) D Whyte B Among leaders early but soon eased off the pace and raced within 3Ls of the leader. Improved to within 2Ls of leader on straightening. Continued well in the straight but couldn't match pace with top pair closing stages.
5 10 GOOD TO GREAT (CD278) B Prebble SR Settled on fence at midfield. Dropped back slightly after being severely checked at 800 M but soon recovered. Kept on well in the straight and made up a bit of ground closing stages.
6 3 SOUTHERN LIGHT (CB439) O Doleuze SR Slightly slow at the start and travelled 2-wide no better than midfield. Entered home straight with about 4Ls to make up. Kept on without threatening.
7 5 GOLDEN STRIDE (CA343) Y Lerner V Jumped awkwardly and was ridden hard to a forward position. Stalked the pace from a 2-wide position rounding home turn. Remained in contention on straightening but unable to sustain effort inside final 300 M.
8 4 GLORIOUS LIGHT (CC115) Y T Cheng -- Settled no better than 3-wide at midfield until home straight. Angled out on straightening for stretch run but only kept on same pace to line.
9 9 KE JIA WANG (CD049) D Dunn -- Jumped well and led briefly in the early stages. Settled 2-wide behind the pace before being carried to 3-wide 800 M out. Clumsy making home turn and fell to midfield before straightening. Couldn't find extra in the straight.
10 12 WING FOOT (CD070) W M Lai SR Jumped awkwardly and was soon in last place. Continued to travel in a rearward position at home turn. Failed to pick up in the straight.
11 1 RISING WIN (CC089) H K Yim SR Best out but failed to keep pace with leaders. Caught widest at midfield early stages and gradually dropped back to be at rear section rounding home turn. Failed to respond in the straight.
12 11 PLEDGE OF HONOR (CD171) S K Sit TT1 Soon travelled in rear section. Dropped to last place after being severely checked at 800 M. Trailed field into home straight and found nothing thereafter.
