2 4 WIN FOR ALL (CD002) B Prebble -- Began fairly and soon raced midfield or better around 2 wide. For some distance after 1200 M proved very difficult to settle. Rounding the home turn was shuffled back to worse than midfield. Ran on well when asked 400 M out.
3 1 SUPER FANTASY (CD162) P Payne TT1 Broke well but was steadily eased to worse than midfield around 2 wide. Switched wide on straightening to obtain clear running. Under pressure 400 M out and responded well but just failed to match speed with the 1st pair.
4 9 GOLD STRIKER (CD365) G Schofield -- Jumped fairly and soon raced in midfield or better 3 wide with cover whilst proving difficult to settle in early to middle stages. Ran on quite well when asked 400 M out and just failed to get into the placing.
5 5 CHECK MATE (CC259) S Dye B Began fairly and steadily eased to the tail of the field on rail through to straight. Under pressure 400 M out and took a while to get going, made up good ground inside final 200 M to be closest at finish.
6 7 UNIVERSAL PIONEER (CB293) C W Wong TT Best out from wide draw and ridden along to race 3/4L off leader 2 wide. Edged in front rounding the home turn, kept on fairly when asked 400 M out but was headed near 150 M and weakened slightly thereafter.
7 10 LUCKY PACKET (CD068) O Doleuze SR Slowly away from wide draw and niggled along to race in midfield or worse 2 wide through to straight. Under pressure 400 M out but unable to step up a gear and only kept on same pace to the line.
8 2 TABBRIS (CB088) H W Lai -- Jumped well and ridden along to take up running on rail with 3/4L advantage. Was headed around the 500 M, only able to run on evenly when asked 400 M out and weakened slightly inside final 150 M.
9 8 DRAGON STRIDE (CC370) M Rodd -- Began fairly and raced in better than midfield on rail. After the 1200 M became unbalanced and dropped to worse than midfield. Only kept on evenly in straight and ran past couple of beaten runners inside final 200 M.
10 13 CHING HOI BOY (CC222) A Starke B Began well and pushed along to race in front of midfield 4 wide without cover. Near the 800 M steadily edged forward to race outside leaders. Only kept on same pace when asked 350 M out and further weakened inside final 200 M.
11 3 DON FELIPE (CD273) P H Lo B Tardy start and niggled along to race in midfield or better 2 wide through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 400 M out and further weakened inside final 250 M.
