4 9 BALL OF FIRE (CD020) H K Yim V Bounded in the air on jumping and dropped to the tail on rail. Near the 1000 M was checked and blundered. Made up little ground from the outside at home turn. Made up little ground inside final 200 M to be closest at finish.
5 12 PRO JOY (CD160) C Williams -- Jumped awkwardly from wide draw and soon settled at back closer to the rail. Made little headway from the outside at home turn. Under pressure 300 M out and made little impression inside final 200 M.
6 6 TELECOM SUPERBOSS (CD180) H W Lai B Began fairly and ridden along to race in a forward position 3 wide without cover through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 300 M out and ran on evenly to the line.
7 7 OLIVE OR TWIST (CB271) A Delpech B Slightly slow to the jump and ridden along to race in better than midfield on rail. Near the 1000 M was checked and dropped to midfield. Under pressure 300 M out but only able to run on evenly to the line.
8 11 MADE IN HONGKONG (CD139) L Innes B Soon settled in a rearward position on rail and near the 1000 M was steadied when closed to heels. Baulked for a run at 250 M but only able to run on evenly when clear running was obtained at 200 M.
9 5 STOIC (BT155) C K Tong V Broke with field and soon settled in a rearward position on inner through to straight. Only able to run on evenly when asked 250 M out and slightly weakened over the final stages.
10 3 HEALTHY FRUITS (CC193) C Brown B/TT Began fairly and soon raced in midfield or better 2 wide through to straight. Kept on evenly when asked 250 M out and faded slightly inside final 200 M.
11 10 FRIENDSHIP (CE066) M W Leung -- Began fairly and raced in midfield around 3 wide. After the 1300 M was bumped and near 1100 M was steadied to avoid heels. Pushed along at home turn to maintain position, failed to make any impression in straight.
12 8 AMBITIOUS LEADER (CC082) W M Lai B Jumped fairly from wide draw and raced in midfield or better around 3 wide. Commenced to lose ground at home bend and tailed out in straight.
