3 1 SUNNY DESERT (CB346) O Doleuze B/SR Broke with field and niggled along to race in a forward position on rail through to straight. Under pressure 300 M out and ran on fairly but never headed in position to trouble the 1st pair.
4 6 DESERT STRIKE (CB054) A Delpech B Jumped with lead and soon raced in midfield or better on fence through to straight. Under pressure 300 M out but failed to quicken and only ran on evenly to the line.
5 7 FRIENDSHIP (CE066) D Whyte CP1 Began fairly from widest and niggled along to race in midfield around 3-wide with cover. Made little headway going up the Rock to be 2Ls off pace on straightening. Only ran on evenly to the line when asked 300 M out.
6 3 MAMOUSKA (CB444) E Saint-Martin B Slowly away and raced in the rear section on rail through to straight. Under pressure 300 M but only able to keep on same pace to the line. (Lame.)
7 9 JUST IN TIME (BV215) P H Lo -- Broke fairly from wide gate and niggled along to race in midfield 2-wide. Switched out on straightening to obtain clear running and was only able to plug on evenly to the post.
8 10 TOUCH DOWN (CB013) W M Lai TT Slowly away and raced at the back 2-wide with cover through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 300 M and only kept on one-pace to the finish.
9 8 A BETTER DRAGON (CC329) R Fradd SR Jumped with field and niggled along to race towards the rear 2-wide. Switched to the widest on straightening to obtain clear running but unable to make any impression when asked 300 M out.
10 5 TRUST ME (CA144) M Rodd B Jumped well and steady eased to a rearward position around 3-wide with cover through to straight. Stayed one-paced when asked 300 M out and further weakened inside final 200 M.
11 4 STAR PRODIGY (CD294) B Prebble P-/B2/H Broke fairly and ridden along to race in a midfield or better 2-wide. Under pressure at home turn to maintain position and faded out in home straight.
12 12 CHEERFUL SUNSHINE (CC331) C K Tong SR/H/TT1 Broke well and ridden along to dispute lead in the early stages. Settled in 2nd place down the back straight. Commenced to give ground going up the Rock and tailed out in straight.
