2 9 GALLANT FALCON (CD194) A Delpech TT Jumped fairly and pushed along to take up running on rail with no more than 1/2L advantage to straight. Fought on gallantly with the winner in straight but unable to hold off the winner inside final 100 M.
3 4 NOBLE CHAMPION (CC287) R Fradd -- Jumped with field and soon raced around 1-1/2Ls off pace on rail through to straight. Under pressure 400 M out and ran on fairly without threatening the first pair.
4 11 PEAK POWER (BV002) W M Lai P Sluggish start and soon settled behind midfield 2 wide. Switched out on straightening to obtain clear running, plugged on fairly to the line when asked 400 M out.
5 7 SUNNY RIVIERA (CC240) C Brown -- Tardy start from wide gate and steadily eased to the rear closer to the rail. Made up little ground from middle of the track inside final 200 M when asked 400 M out.
6 14 BROWN BEAUTY (CC029) Y T Cheng V On jumping stood flat-footed and lost a lot of ground. Raced at the back on rail through to straight. Slightly held up in early part of straight, made up little ground inside final 200 M to be closest at finish.
7 13 AWARD (CE111) O Doleuze -- Jumped fairly and niggled along to race in midfield or worse 3 wide with cover. Ridden along and made little headway at home turn. Plugged on fairly when asked 400 M out but became one pace inside final 200 M.
8 5 ELEPHANT DANCE (CA391) K W Tsui -- Raced in midfield or better around 2 wide and commenced to hang out after 1300 M. Unable to quicken when asked 400 M out and only kept on evenly to the line.
9 1 EVERGREEN (CE106) P H Lo B1/TT1 Broke well from wide draw and pushed along to race in a forward position around 2 wide to straight. Under pressure 400 M out but was only able to run on evenly to the line.
10 8 GOOD HEART (CC026) L Innes B Slowly away and raced towards the rear on rail through to straight. Kept on same pace when asked 400 M out and further weakened inside final 200 M.
11 3 KA KA WIN (CD006) S Dye CP Jumped fairly from wide draw and soon eased to the rear 3 wide with cover through to straight. Unable to show much impression when asked 400 M out.
12 2 FUJI SUNRISE (CD100) C Williams -- Began fairly from widest and pushed along to race in a prominent position 3 wide without cover to straight. Found nothing when asked 400 M and gave ground steadily there- after.
13 6 SPRINTER (CA067) H W Lai B Broke with field from wide gate and pushed along to race in midfield or worse around 4 wide with limited cover. Commenced to give ground after the 600 M and faded quite badly in straight.
14 12 HAPPY CRUSADER (CE080) G Schofield SR/TT Jumped fairly and soon raced in midfield 2 wide through to straight. Found nothing when asked 400 M out and gave ground rapidly inside final 300 M.
