2 1 CLASSA FOR EVER (CD085) H W Lai -- Away well, showed good early speed to cross from widest alley and take up lead, kept them going at good speed in front, held lead until 100 M mark but early effort told and just nailed on line.
3 4 AMO (CB125) C Soumillon -- Broke with them, lacked early toe to cross, trapped 3 wide midfield 4-5Ls away with cover, travelled well to turn, didn't have 100% clear running in straight but drove hard to snatch 3rd when clear.
4 9 LUCKY FRUIT (CG026) Y T Cheng -- Fast away, showed speed to cross to near rails, raced 1 out 1 back 2Ls away thereafter, enjoyed fair trip to turn, under hard riding early in straight, kept giving to be right in finish.
5 10 CHOICE AND CHANCE (CA381) C W Wong B Slow to begin, ridden up to take up midfield spot 3 back on fence 3-4Ls away, didn't settle well, saved ground following rails into straight and chased strongly to be closest at finish.
6 3 GIANFANTI (CD216) O Doleuze V/TT Fairly away, drove throughout to hold position behind the leader, had run of race throughout, received dream split on turn, lacked dash to capitalise and only held ground to line.
7 12 VITAL PATROL (CC335) M W Leung -- Average to begin, restrained early to settle in rearward position on rails, raced 5 back on fence 7-8Ls from leader, gave big start on turn, made up large amount of ground from impossible spot. (See Racing Incidents.)
8 2 FLYING GENERAL (CB236) D Whyte SR Bounced out well, restrained to obtain cover, had cover midfield early but raced 3 wide (no cover) from 600 M, came with run 4-5 wide on turn, tried hard in straight but could only hold ground without threatening.
9 7 INSIDE MAIL (CD138) C K Tong V Jumped with them, caught wide early, raced 4 wide without cover throughout, always working to turn, came widest in straight and held ground well despite wide run.
10 6 SPACED (CG034) C Brown B/TT Average to begin, drove through to be in midfield early, drifted back to settle 2 wide 6Ls away, under pressure entering straight, showed no turn of foot last 200 M and plugged to line.
11 11 DRAGON INN (CE327) W M Lai -- Average to begin and checked early, drifted back to 2nd last 3-wide 7Ls away from leaders, always working throughout, hard ridden in straight and made no impression.
12 5 BLISS STAR (CE311) B Prebble B/TT1 Fairly away, lacked early dash and settled in rearward spot 5Ls away from front runners, under pressure approaching turn, very one-paced in straight and showed nothing to line.
