3 5 QI'S PET (CD321) S K Sit B Tracked leader in a 2-wide position. Improved gradually making home turn and took the lead shortly after straightening. Headed by winner 200 M out and kept on fairly for a minor placing.

6 1 EMBRACES (CH175) A Delpech -- Jumped awkwardly and then was checked to the rear shortly after. Raced towards the back and trailed field into home straight. Made up ground by running past tired runners.
7 4 SPACED (CG034) Y T Cheng TT Under the whip to obtain a forward spot. Settled behind the pace from 1200 M onwards. Remained in a prominent spot behind the lead turning for home but unable to find much in the straight.
8 10 DASHING FLAIR (CE330) H W Lai TT Led briefly at the start and then slipped back gradually to settle on the fence at midfield. Caught behind slow traffic and shuffled to rear section making home turn. Ran on fairly in the straight but had trouble finding a clear run.
9 6 G-ONE LEADING (CE306) D Whyte -- Niggled along early stages to move into a 2-wide position better than midfield. Kept within 3Ls of the leader back straight. Lacked the needed response when asked turning for home and weakened final stages.
10 2 NEW TRIUMPH (CG105) C W Wong -- Raced wide in a forward position before rolling to the lead 1200 M out. Held a slim advantage leading into the home straight but weakened thereafter. Overraced and didn't handle trip.
