4 3 SEA TREASURE (CD335) M Nunes B/XB Raced midfield before being shuffled back to last position along the fence near the 900 M. Was checked near the 700 M, however made fair ground over the concluding stages.
5 2 ELEPHANT DANCE (CA391) W M Lai B Was 3 deep with cover until slotting into 1 off passing the 1400 M. Dour when under pressure over the final stages.
6 5 PALETTE THE BEST (CH151) D Whyte XB1 Settled in the rear division on the fence, shifted out 3 deep and went forward with cover from the 800 M, but was never likely.
7 13 FOREVER RICHES (CG174) S K Sit B Raced at the tail of the field 2 deep with cover, was hampered near the 1200 M and did little over the final 300 M.
8 7 VINCERE (CE324) D Beadman B-/CP1 Travelled midfield the fence, copped a check near the 700 M. Made some headway early in the straight before fading on its run inside the furlong.
9 8 BIG WINNER (CD229) K Shea B/TT Parked behind the leader on the fence, struggled at the business end.
10 6 SHINING DAY (CE163) K L Chui B/TT Settled 2 deep midfield with cover, received a check near the 700 M when giving ground. Never a factor.
11 1 CHEERFUL HEART (CC206) B Prebble B Positioned 1 off with cover in last spot. Attempted to track into the race after the 900 M but failed to run on.
12 12 DECAGONAL (CH244) G Mosse TT Raced close to midfield, 1 off with cover before shifting to the 3-wide line and going forward near the 1000 M. Was caught wide & without cover for the remainder of the journey.
13 10 SUPREME DRAGON (CH161) Z Purton -- Went forward early to race upsides with the leader. Couldn't maintain its position from the 800 M and gradually drifted back.
14 9 MASTER MASTER (CH144) F Coetzee B Shortly after the start was checked and stumbled when crowded. Postioned 1 off behind midfield, overraced in the early & middle stages & travelled wide and without cover from the 1100 M.
