2 12 PALETTE THE BEST (CH151) F Coetzee -- Bumped at jump, taken in behind and ended up sharing rear 5-6Ls back racing 2-wide, had a fair run throughout, well back with field to beat on turning, shifted out and charged last 200 M to narrowly miss.
3 9 AMSTERDAM (CE140) M Nunes XB/H/TT No pace early and allowed to drop in at rear, raced on rails 5Ls back behind midfield, not asked in mid-section, saved ground on bend, held up to 200 M but closed nicely when clear to secure a place.
4 8 WARM EMBRACES (CJ162) Y T Cheng -- Only fairly away, angled into a midfield spot 4Ls away in running line, had an easy run thereafter, in between horses turning, lost run at 200 M, recovered well to close off evenly to match frame.
5 3 LOCAL POWER (CH296) B Prebble -- Began with first few, pushed on to take prominent role 2Ls back in 2-wide line, travelled well throughout, closer enough on turning in, threatened at 150 M but unable continue run and just plugged last bit.
6 1 INFINITE DELIGHT (CG314) O Doleuze B/TT Showed speed from outset, held a prominent role behind the leader, had a reasonable run despite even sections, eased out and briefly took over on turning, unable to sustain effort last 200 M just holding ground in run to line.
7 4 THE WITCH'S BROOM (CH231) H W Lai -- Standard getaway, settled in a midfield spot on rails 3Ls back, had an ideal run throughout, saved ground on bend, held up to 200 M, made even progress once clear.
8 7 SOLAR POWER (CE047) C K Tong TT Began well, prominent early racing 4-wide leaving straight, raced 3-wide with cover 5Ls back thereafter, shuffled back approaching bend, made some headway down middle before run ended at 100 M. (See Racing Incidents.)
9 2 FANTASTIC DANCER (CJ001) G Mosse B First to hit ground, pushed on working hard to take up running, set a reasonable speed in front, held a narrow advantage on turning, quickly overhauled and dropped out easily thereafter.
10 10 LIVERBIRD (CE055) S K Sit B Out in line, lacked early pace and drifted back to be with last few 6 or so lengths back, raced 3-wide with cover, still well back to bend, lacked a finish and struggled in run to line.
11 6 PRIME TARGET (CH242) G Boss -- Out well, pushed on in search of prominent spot, 5-wide early before using reserves to race outside leader, had a fair run thereafter, struggling on bend, weakened easily in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)
